Getting eliminated for no reason with HP left.

So I was in 3rd place with 6 HP and I managed to pull a comp that was actually winning every round, I got matched against the copy of an opponent as the people remaining was an odd number, I won the battle and was waiting for the rest of players to finish their fights, then randomly got eliminated as if I had taken damage or something. losing me the game. Pretty sure it was a bug unless there's a hidden mechanic that forces a 1v1 in the end?
