Losing LP for 4th place finish.

This has happened three times now when I get 4th place I lose LP. Is this not guaranteed LP for 4th? I feel like I have heard two different things after reading this now.

You’ll gain a lot more LP when you finish a TFT game in first place, since you’re basically beating seven other players in that game. You’ll typically gain some LP if you finish 4th or higher, and lose some LP if you finish 5th or lower, but spots in the middle will have fairly small changes for most games.

Hey riot can you please explane why i demoted from gold 1 to gold 2 75 lp for getting 4th place yes i was on 0 lp i just hit 0 lp and then i got 4th ???

Working as intended.

If your MMR is extraordinarily low, IE - you've been losing a lot recently or whatever, you will lose LP in 4th.

Typically only 5-15 LP depending on how high you shot up on your win streak, and now you're losing because you're placed against people better than you. You went too far, too fast -- now the game is reeling you back in to where you probably belong.

Its a very small LP loss. If you're meant to climb, you'll counteract it quickly.

Yeah i just won 4 games in a row. And the next game i placed 4 and lost 4 lp....

This just happened to me. Hope it gets fixed soon. Glad I didnt win top 2 otherwise I will be losing 20+ lp lol

As with any ranked queue, y'all have a hidden MMR score. If you suck at TFT and lost too many games or ended below 4th too many times for the amount of games played then the game is trying to force you down the ladder since you obviously don't belong in the league you're in. I used to gain 90LP for 1st place climbing, I reached Plat 3, now I'm way more often than not between 6th and 2nd, very rarely first or last and the game figured I might have reached my level for the time being. As in any ranked queue, you're going to have to work for the wins so that your MMR gets back up. Stop complaining, you obviously ended 2nd twice in a row but how many times did you end the games below 4th ? Go figure, y'all thought you could climb that easily because they put a system that allows for more flexibility ? Nah lmao, if y'all suck y'all aren't going to climb, period.

Yeah whatever about mmr, I consistently win my games, multiple top 1, sometimes stopped by top 2, and still loose lp at fourth place lol

I have also lost LP for coming in 4th and had a friend gain LP for 5th in the same game.
