Merged Units Dropping Completed Items

Let's say you have a 2 star Shen on field with two completed items, and just need a single Shen to make it a 3 star. If the other 2 star Shen has a completed item, and you get a Shen from the draft with an item component, it will drop the completed item from the second 2 star Shen. Which is a slight problem.
