PLEASE don't make items disappear

I experienced my most frustrating loss because I sold a unit with 3 items to transfer them to a different unit. The round started before I placed the items, and the items disappeared from my bench so I couldn't place them resulting in a loss when I would have certainly at least won the round I lost on. I don't know if this should still count as a "bug report" as it is an issue that has existed since the beta opened on on PBE and been constantly reported as a bug but never been addressed despite how big of an impact it has. It may be an intended interaction that we the players don't understand. If so please change it. If its a bug then it must be a very complicated to fix (as it is so impactful, so often reported, and occurs at a high rate) so I hope they figure it out soon.
