soraka strategy for my support brah

  1. in laning phase. i want you to only stand behind me and heal me. dont use Q or E unless in emergency. i find Q or E is just a waste of mana, and if you try to Q enemies will just focus you so its better for you to stay back and use your health to heal me

  2. i like to share soraka healing with my midlaner. once you are level 3, i want you to run mid if our midlaner goes under 60% health. and you can heal him / top him off / then come back to me to heal me. i will be safe and hug my tower while im 1v2. i will be fine and safe

  3. after a bot tower dies (ours or thiers) i want you to let me solo bot and you start supporting / warding /helping mid. i believe this is how support should be played, during laning phase you support your ADC, and AFTER laning phase is over you should let your ADC solo bot and you basically should stay mid for literally the-rest-of-the-game and support the midlaner

i believe laning phase is over, pretty much, when a bot tower dies

  1. you may ask "if i stay mid for the rest of the game, doesnt that take EXP from our midlaner?" and the answer to that is NO. IT DOES NOT. here is how exp works in league. for every person who shares exp, it creates 30% extra EXP and shares it between all champs. this means when you are standing mid and "taking exp" you are actually CREATING 30% more exp from the minion wave. so by you "taking exp" from the midlaner you are actually giving our team BONUS EXP overall. so its good for us.

if you were not mid taking that exp, the team would only get 100% exp from that wave (and the enemy support is probably seting up a mid-play while you arent there. which can lead to our midlaner dying)

so overall. it is simply GOOD and BEST for you to stay mid and ward mid and support the midlaner after laning phase is over

when your mid taking exp, the team gets 130% exp from the wave. so you want to be mid to soak up all the EXP. because it creates MORE exp overall for our team

as for the midlaner, hes already near level 11 when laning phase ends, so it doesnt matter if he goes from 100% to 70% exp gain from you soaking exp. he will still hit lvl16 at a nice time, and because you are SUPPORTING HIM and HEALING HIM and WARDING FOR HIM. i feel all of your wards + healing + help to our midlaner gives great power to the TEAM and any midlaner worth his salt will thank you for the wards+support+healing you provide him. only a trash midlaner will get mad at you for "taking exp"

  1. expanding on number 4. as soraka i want you to view EXP GAIN as super important. many supports are strongest lvls 7-12 and dont care about lvl16 and they are strong roaming alot getting many kills and not caring about EXP. i feel however that sorakas level 16 powerspike is very strong for the team (a huge heal for the whole team). As soraka i feel its more powerful to stay in a lane (mid or bot) and absorb exp than it is to roam and have a "chance" at gaining a kill.

As soraka you always want to be near minions and gaining exp, because your power gets so strong with levels, so you can hit your level 16 powerspike as fast as possible. If the midlaner leaves mid and leaves a minion wave, i feel you literally should just stay mid and collect that wave of exp, and dont even try to follow the midlaner.

If the midlaner leaves a full wave of EXP, let him do his roam, and you stay mid to collect that exp

  1. pink wards. i feel as support one of the biggest "oops" moment is when you die killing a pink ward. i feel you should ONLY attack a pinkward if you are 100% absolutely positive no enemies are near and its SAFE and you do not risk dying. if you feel any risk of dying over hitting a pinkward, DO NOT HIT IT, and just leave it and let your allies kill it later on.

  2. warding. i feel one of the biggest mistakes supports make is trying to do deep offensive wards cuz they "see it in pro play". screw that. I want 100% of your wards to be in my defensive locations (ill explain where), and you can let your allies with yellow trinkets place offensive wards

there are 3 ward locations that i feel are the 3 main defensive ward locations. i will want you to keep these 3 locations warded after laning phase ends, up to about 30 minutes. And after 30 minutes, you can start warding deeper

ill explain the 3 ward locations before we play just to make sure you totally know where they are, however for now ill quickly explain in words where those 3 ward spots are the first 2 wards are in the "mid bushes". the mid bushes are the 2 long bushes right next to midlane. the 3rd ward is right above the bottom mid-bush in your enemies cliff area where they like to stand to throw skillshots. ill explain where this is before we play

  1. midgame ward-sustain strategy

so as i said in number 7, i want you to basically ward the same 3 areas all-game up to 30 minutes. and keeping 3 wards up at all-times is actually not easy, i know, because you have to recall and refill your sightstone constantly during the hectic gameflow.

So here is a strategy i think is good to help you to always keep up the wards during the hectic flow of combat

first. sightstone wards last 2.5 minutes (150 seconds) and sightstone gives you 3 wards. So i think with planning and ingame focus, we can achieve our warding goals.

So with the above in-mind, i think this warding plan should work. and heres what it is.

i want you to place your 3 sightstone wards in the 3 warding locations (and ill show you those locations before we play). And then next, i want "recharge sightstone" to be a goal within your mind. after placing your 3 wards, you will have 120 seconds to use your mental resolve to find good chance to recall to recharge your wards.

Normally, I think it should be fairly easy find a time during those 120 seconds that you feel is "right" and "good" to recall and recharge your wards

Also, heck, if 50 seconds after placing your wards you feel like its a safe time to recall. then just recall. and walk back to midlane. And once you return to midlane, your 3 wards will have 80 seconds of REMAINING LIFE, and when they die you can replace those wards giving you 150 seconds of NEW WARD LIFE. this means your recall move gives you 230 seconds of WARD-LIFE to work with. Meaning you can recall in 200 seconds to refill your sightstone, and your good-to-go and you will achieve permanent defense ward-coverage for our midlaner which massively powers-up our team

also. remember. your "warding strategy" only starts once laning phase is OVER. im speaking about a plan to keep up our 3 "defensive mid-wards". and i want those wards AFTER laning phase. so of course, i only want you to focus on keeping up these wards when laning phase is over. during laning phase, i want you to be near me and healing me. so you will not be warding mid during laning phase.

  1. item path will be eye oasis > zzrot > mobis > warmogs > banshees > randuins

mastery is the healing one of course. i still dunno what runes r best. ill think of that later

  1. oh i forgot this. i want you to start W and give our jungler a super leash. leash like 2-3 camps for our jungler, and you do not take exp. you miss some exp but i think it doesnt matter since you can get heal at lvl1 and you start boosting our team at lvl1. this helps the jungler alot. every jungler will thank you.

we wont speak of this in the game. we will just do it. heres how i want you to do it so our jungler doesnt waste time and type "wtf". do it like this

once FIRST CAMP reaches 50% health, i want you to start running away, making our jungler think its all normal. then when first camp is about to die, run back to our jungler and follow him and just start healing him and leash 3 camps for him. do not take any exp. this uses the soraka pick to boost our team at lvl1
