Visual difference between a open nexus and a defended nexus?

So I had a thought as I was thinking about the new map, and something that pops up on occasion is an inhib respawns behind the nexus and it suddenly just loses its health and can't be attacked. Is this different in the VU? Like does it look more protected when compared to an open nexus? Or do you feel that health above the base is enough. It'd be a nice future touch at the very least :)

Good suggestion, I'll bounce it on to the SR team in case it's not something they're already looking.

I actually like this idea. It would help identify when a nexus is able to be attacked, and I imagine wouldn't be -too- difficult to implement a red or blue shield around the floating crystal.

I'd love to see this on live, a visual showing that the nexus can't be attacked until the towers and at least one inhibitor are destroyed. I'd like the same for inner turrets before you destroy outer ones and for inhibitors before you destroy their respective turrets.

What happened to the summoners on the nexus in game?
