1,000 + ping (ms) latency on Twisted Treeline

I've been trying to play twisted treeline since the newest patch, it's just every time I attempt to play the mode I get anywhere from 800 - 1,600 Ping latency making this game unplayable.

I tried playing a custom match for the new summoners rift and it was normal ping, switched to pvp twisted treeline and it's back over 1k ping.

Any one else experiencing bad lag on the TT?
