Mages who que into bottom lane support

at least buy sight stone, I don't know how many people I've seen who don't.

support is not mid lane 2.0 so build support item wise or just wait longer to que into mid.

I wish people who ask the support to buy sightstone would also buy wards themselves.

Not saying you are one of those specifically, OP, I'm pretty sure you ward, but I noticed that some people think sightstone supports should be the only one warding, instead of viewing sightstone as a gold-efficient item for supports to supplement team warding.

Truthfully the jungler and support should always have a sightstone and a red trinket. Mid should be upgrading a yellow trinket at 9 to assist with more vision. Top should be swapping to red trinket after laning phase to assist in clearing enemy vision. ADC should be using blue trinket to help spot areas where you may think enemy may be hiding so you don;t facecheck brushes. EVERYONE should have a goddamn pink on the map at all times. If more teams would play like this alot of our headaches would be solved.

I don't mind building sighstone when jungling, hell I even did it once as an emergency measure and it turned the game around.

But yes, it would be less of a headache. I swear, I get an aneurism everytime I hear "It's the support's job to ward."

Went from bronze to plat building straight ap supports. Even had a fizz mid give up and build sight because I did more damage. Sometimes you just need to carry.

item 3504 stats and utility are very laughable item 3222 was nerfed and it has higher cost supports make no money at all so the only way to be useful is to build full ap to be useful late game in order to compete with tank supports who are useful just by being around to soak up damage plus not to mention their cc

Dear god you're building health on soraka? You don't have to do damage to be a good support. Using your cc correctly should be enough. Building ap is like challenge mode. Much higher risk but a better potential reward. Censer is fine, Mikaels is a good pick up on hard cc ie ashe arrow. Maybe instead of bashing how others play you should try it. You might find you're able to do more.

Building health on Soraka does make you slightly less vulnerable to enemy action and late in the game your health regen will be kicking in enough to do something about the widening gap between what your W costs you and what your Q gets you back. But, I still don't think it's practical in her case compared to what you could have spent the gold on instead.

I had a game recently where my friend played full AP Blitz support. He was the ultimate assassin. In all seriousness, I know what you mean. I saw a Sona once who was boasting about how she had the most kills as a support, despite the fact that she build her starting support item and a Sightstone. A total of 1165 gold on support items. If you are a support, you should not prioritize AP. Banner of Command is good. Frozen Heart is good. There are many non-starting/non-rushing/non-essential support items that should have priority over flat AP. Here's a good rule of thumb: If you're even considering building Death Cap or Luden's Echo, you should rethink how you play support.

riot nerfed everything a support does so unless we go full ap we are almost useless since our utility is "too good" they even gave nami an ap ratio on her slow and her passive just so she could scale off ap

I'm going to point out I recognize there's no logical reason for me to be getting defensive. I'm also going to state I almost always buy a pink ward and almost always save Haunting Guise for after I have my SIghtstone and Frostfang. :v

Morgana I always build sightstone. What kind of crappy supports are you getting? But, bitches, I CAN ONLY PUT OUT 3 AT ONCE y'all need to do some warding to. And I don't mean just your non-upgraded warding totem.
