Warlord and Assassins (Game for Custom Lobbies!)
I remember playing ARAM in custom which was later turned into an actual game type. I also have been playing a game type called "Hide and Seek", and I really do enjoy playing modes outside of the standard 5v5/3v3 league stuff and all. I decided to come up with a game type myself for custom lobbies, and if anyone wants to try it out, feel free to! Some of these rules are inspired by Hide and Seek, so thanks goes to whoever came up with the original rules! The Rules are the Following...
For the Best Results, Play this map on Dominion for Virtually Unlimited Time. Do not cap the points until one of the teams wins. Draft mode is also a good option to allow both teams to ban specific champions they desire. ** RULES**
Player Types and Roles: Players will play as one of the following 3 roles. They may play the Warlord, Bodyguard, or Assassin. These roles all try to fulfill their specific purposes in attempts to win the game in opposition to the enemy team.
•Assassins - These players try to assassinate the enemy Warlord to win the game. Assassins must acquire 5 Kills on the Enemy Warlord to win the game. If an Assassin Kills a Bodyguard, they do not acquire any kills towards their goal. Assassins MUST kill the Warlord to gain kills towards their goal, and are not restricting in use of any of their abilities.
•Bodyguards - These Players try to defends the Warlord to prevent his death in order to achieve victory. If the timer reaches 35 Minutes before the Assassins are able to kill the Warlord 5 Times, then the bodyguards and Warlord win. The Bodyguards may only use CC abilities (snares, silence, etc...), Movement abilities (such as dashes, MS boosts, etc...), or abilities that do not damage enemies (shields, heals, etc...). The bodyguards would then be unable to use purely damaging moves, or moves that combine other utility functions with damage (something like kassadin's W).
•Warlord - The Warlord tries to stay alive and wait until the time expires. If the Warlord dies 5 times, then the Assassins win the game. Like the Assassins, the Warlord has no restricted use of abilities.
Teams*
•Warlord and Bodyguards - Comprised of 5 members, this team has 4 bodyguards and 1 Warlord. Members vote on which play they want to be the Warlord. If there are any issues deciding, please find a way to work it out!
•Assassins - Comprised of 3 members, these assassins work together to kill the enemy Warlord and obtain victory.
Restricted Items The Following are items that are restricted for the specific roles or limited for balance purposes.
•Assassins - Only 1 Twin Shadows, Rylai's Crystal Scepter, and Frozen Mallet TOTAL for the Assassin team.
•Warlord - Thornmail and Guardian angel are completely restricted.
•Bodyguards - Only 1 Active Slow per bodyguard, and only 1 Rylai's Crystal Scepter, and 1 Frozen Mallet on the team (counting the Warlord).
Win Conditions
•Assassins - Must kill the Warlord 5 Times before 35 minutes. If the timer reaches 35 minutes, then the Warlord and Bodyguards win.
•Warlord and Bodyguards - Must survive for 35 minutes without the Warlord dying 5 times. There is no downside to bodyguards or assassins dying other than the inherit advantage it might give to the other team.
Special Rules
•Assassins - Assassins may have only 1 clairvoyance on their team in order to prevent easy scouting to find the enemy Warlord. Assassins may not leave their base until 2 minutes to give ample time for the Warlord and bodyguards to hide if they so choose.
•Warlord - When entering the game, the Warlord must announce to the enemy Assassins that he is the Warlord to allow them to properly prioritize him as the target for victory. At this time, the Warlord can take the time for a short speech of how they might dominate the opposition or whatever intimidating thing he might come up with! Remember to keep it sportsmanlike!
The Warlord may not camp in the home base (camping might be considered 30 seconds or more) in order to prevent cheating to achieve victory easier. Once the Warlord leaves his/her base, the Warlord may only return to their base when they call Peace. The time required to win for the Warlord and Bodyguards then increases by 1 minute (I.e. 35 minutes +1 = 36 minutes required to win), and the warlord gets 30 seconds to head back to base and buy items. This power may only be used twice per game to prevent games from being extended too long.
The Warlord may, as earlier stated, use any abilities and attacks without restriction just as the Assassins may. This makes the Warlord not only the most valuable member on the team, but also potentially the most powerful member on the team too!
•Bodyguards - As stated earlier, Bodyguards may only use abilities that either have CC or Mobility effects built into them (things like Rylai's do not make an ability a CC ability nor do passives like Gangplank's make his other abilities into CC abilities like his Q), or they may use abilities that do not deal damage to enemies (heals/shields/walls etc...). This will make the teams more balanced so the outnumbered assassins stand a chance. Bodyguards may ALWAYS use their ultimates (also for balance purposes).
Champion Restrictions The only restrictions outside of in-game bans in draft mode are applied only to the Warlord to prevent auto-wins or easy victories. The warlord may not use the following.
•Teemo
•Evelynn
The thought behind these bans are to restrict permanent stealth which could make for a very difficult time for the Assassins.
So that's the game mode! feel free to try it out in a custom game and see how much you like it! If you have any suggestions about the rules then please post them In the comments bellow! Thanks for reading!
