What I Learned from Nemesis Draft

Grammar Nazis Beware - I don't have good grammar, and I am sorry for this.

I know there are many of you who don't like nemesis draft, and for good reason with all the dodging and toxicity but I think it has been a success. I have learned about many champions I would have never played before such as Skarner, Taric, Poppy, Yorick, and I'm especially happy for Shen. I have always disliked Tank champions but I have found Shen to be much more than an average Tank and I have carried several games as him and I am currently earning IP to buy him.

Anyways my point is that I have a newfound respect for some lesser played champs as well as some sleeper OP builds. The other thing I learned is from the troll picks that even if you give your Opponents super OP champs like Riven, Katarina, and Lee Sin they are still only as good as they play. I went against a very OP team because we wanted to give the team a super team comp and we had all supports and STILL WON. for people that complain about champs people give just relax because as long as you work as a team you can still win.

on the other side...the 3rd thing I learned is that no matter how good of a comp you have you can still lose to really bad champs even when you think you are going to win. We had a really nice team comp and I was Varus who is my main and we took down all of their turrets even the nexus ones and we still had all of our inhibitor turrets. but the enemy team just out of nowhere got super tanky and rolled us with a turret takedown/inhib takedown + an ace and we lost badly

The last thing that I learned and maybe I shoulda learned this sooner but if you can manage to be nice to even the trolls then you can make a comeback and win. I have had trolls on my team that do stuff like feed on purpose and maybe give the enemy a super OP AD based champ when we said to give them all AP or whatever but don't let that ruin your game..just be nice to them even if they feed and tell them good job for stuff like defending a turret from a few waves of minions that shoulda taken it because even trolls have the capacity to comeback and win a game for you. I say this because I had a team threatening to report a guy for giving the enemy a Katarina who ended up destroying us early game but I told them to lighten up on him and I complimented him and he ended up getting a triple kill and taking out the middle inhibitor turret and saying that hes "only trying because someone was nice to me"

but all in all Nemesis draft is more about swallowing your pride and just working hard at something as a team even when odds are completely stacked against you.

Maybe one day people will be saying this about ARAM. Well, that is if one day Riot decides to give a shit about the mode and unlock the entire champion pool for it.

Isn't it funny how featured modes get all the cool new options (like Blind Draft, etc) while old maps continue to suffer because of complete lack of attention?
