Increase dodge penalty if the dodge happens towards the end of draft mode champion select

I think that dodge penalties should be increased if a person dodges towards the end of champion select in draft mode. The value of a dodge early on in draft is much lower than the value of a dodge later on in draft.

The first thing that changes is the amount of time that is wasted among all players in the game. If a person dodges very early on, they may waste only a couple minutes combined between all people. If they dodge towards the end, the time adds up, even upwards of an hour wasted (5+ minutes between 9 other people).

The second thing that changes is the information available to the person dodging. In the beginning they might only know some player names on their team, the bans, or a first pick. Towards the end they know the entire team comp of both teams.

So, I think a system that suspends a person for the cumulative amount of time in champion select would be good. If someone dodges 30 seconds into champion select before the bans are complete, time them out for 4m30s (or just 5 minutes). If someone dodges 5 minutes into champion select and after the picks are complete, suspend them for 45 minutes.

The above system is just a suggestion towards how something could work - obviously there would be more to it if something like this is implemented. I just think that people need to be punished more for dodging towards the end of draft phase compared to dodging towards the beginning. Thoughts?

this is a very valid point. I think that the later that someone leaves, the more LP they lose. However, there needs to be a way to report champ select trolls so that the situation wouldn't be even worse.

I personally disagree (Just throwing this out here, I haven't dodged a single ranked game out of ~40 this season, not counting Team Ranked which I don't have a number on right now, but I don't believe we've dodged any of those, so this isn't me trying to get punished less or whatever)

Reason being, more often then not, the reason to dodge is because of Last Pick specifically. Last pick sits there and says nothing until it's their turn to pick and suddenly "I don't know how to jungle" ... What the heck do you do to that but dodge or accept the enemy team has a higher chance of winning from the get go? And then trolls who force dodges will just have more incentive to wait till the last few seconds to activate their trap cards.. Lot's of potential abuse cases would crop up.

If anything I'd argue there needs to be a free dodge per period # of games, or period of time (perhaps both to appease both people who play a lot and those who play only when they have the chance)
