New Game Mode: Free For All (FFA)

After playing league for a while, i really wanted to challenge my friends in a custom. The one thing that was a bit disappointing was that we would each have to wait to 1v1 each other. Free for all would not be too hard to setup, it could be a map similar to dominion but with 5 spawn points; so it would have to be a 5 person max game. Then change it up by having some small jungle camps around the map with the center being a small open area. This would also take strategy to a whole new level, you would have to learn to survive on your own, i know some supports would bee left out in this but some wont! One of my favorite supports Janna "Janna" would be nice because she is able to deal some damage. This still would need some work on how creeps and laneing could work but that why we have the community here to help! So how could we improve this to make this possible?

EDIT: I Will Be Making The Post Look Much Better After I Plan Everything out!

it sounds good. also though maybe they could also do a type of duo ffa. like you could choose to do solo, where its you and 5 other people free for all, or go with a partner and it be you two vs. 4 other teams of 2. so then the max players are 10

I love the idea, but how do you win for example. What is the function of turrets, or the nexus, and where do new players spawn on the map? If they all spawn in different places, where do they go to heal?

Picky questions I know, but questions that would need to be asked. Love the idea though!

you can't have free for all in a teambased game.... it just makes 0 sense

so similar to ascension except everyone for themselves and no relics?

Could be on the Crystal Skar. No relics, Health packs respawn times are longer, Each capture area is a spawnpoint. You are unkillable on your spawnpoint and you can buy items, and you can only stay in the jungle area of the map. 5 max people. on a duo game there would be 10 people.

I like the idea of free for all and this would be a fun game mode. I'll put out the areas I feel will be most important and then give my opinions on them.

  1. Objective: What would be the win condition of the game? I think what would be coolest is a point system similar to Ascension except no relics. Kills on someone with few points give you less points than a kill on someone who has a lot. It might also be cool to have a central objective in the middle that would keep drawing everyone on the map to it. After a bunch of thought I don't think turrets are viable on this mode because defending them would start to feel like a chore very quickly. Since they'd be approachable from multiple angles by multiple people with different objectives in mind, so you'd end up doing less running around and killing people which is what would make this game mode fun (not that I'm opposed to the idea of two people tower diving one guy and then turning on each other midway :P. (and if player A is tower dove by B who is then attacked by C and the turret finishes player B off does A or C get the kill? O.o)

  2. Gold & XP: Minons and lanes don't really work unless you have turrets because then the lanes would be really confused as to who should be on which side, 5 different sets of minions, if you don't kill them where do they end up? So a jungle is a nice idea, although I think the monsters in it should be weak so that farming doesn't feel like a full time job, just something you do inbetween fights. A convoluted pathing system would make for exciting chases and fights. There should be a steady xp and gold gain that's pretty quick with farming augmenting that (similar to dominion)

  3. Snowball: Yeah, there's going to be that Kat who goes 22/1 and runs around ripping everyone apart. So do you just make the games fairly quick so if there's a snowball nobody is crying for too long? Or do you go all Ascension and make gold income steady for everyone? I feel the former makes the game mode cheap and the latter makes it lame by giving you no reward for doing well. I think the answer lies in setting up some sort of comeback mechanic or alliance mechanic so players can secretly chat to each other and make plans for ganging up on the fed player or have something they can contest (that objective in the middle) to get back in the game.

Well I could go on for a while but I'll keep it to those main points. Feel free to correct my ideas, add new ones, rage for no reason, it's all cool, the idea is to promote discussion so that all the ideas can form a larger whole.

Instead of Creeps there could be some weak jg monsters
