New laser turrets are WEAK

I found out that no matter what, even if you drag someone under them for 10 seconds, the new towers still fail to do over 200 damage to any champ squishy or not. The damage output of the new lasers should be increased by 25% at the smallest

I think the main problem is the ridiculous armor-pen. THese turrets deal the same dmg to tanks as they do to squishies...so right now there´s no difference between rammus tanking the turret or syndra doing it, and the dmg is pretty much non-existent. It´s really just another hit onto the already dead tank-class...i have no clue why Riot has this absurd bias towards tanks, turrets really should hit hard on anyone except the goddamn tank that invests most of his money to make sure he can tank them. There should be a huge difference!

RazorTS11/23/2014, 9:01:03 PM13 votes

yep they barely scratch anyone right now

I also think they should switch targets quicker. I feel like they should be clearing minion waves faster than they are.

They said that the turrets were supposed to be dealing 150-200% of the damage of what they used to be doing but now it feels like they're doing ~70% of the damage they used to do. And it was pitiful damage back then too.

Agreed!

NeoScout11/23/2014, 11:04:13 PM4 votes

agree, also dragon is too weak

LupusNox11/23/2014, 11:37:35 PM4 votes

literally the only thing that i don't like as a bruiser while turret diving against the new laser turrets is the slow. other than that, the damage is inconsequential

SS Enforcer11/23/2014, 8:54:17 PM4 votes

I must agree.

Just played a game where I (tanky mage cho) fell back to the mid inhib turret after a nasty teamfight and the enemy Cait and Rengar were left without minions to tank the turret. cait walked up and chunked it by 1/3 before it killed her BLOODTHIRSTER SHIELD and then fell back. minion wave came in and i nuked it and then the turret shot rengar (who started at half) while i was without spells to properly scare cait off the turret. It zapped him for a solid 8-10 seconds and didn't even do a quarter of his health and the two of them nabbed the tower from full and fell back. It kills nobody. Tanks or squishies, doesn't matter. Rengar only had a Randuins btw

New turrets are bad. Personally I also think turrets should regen maybe not as fast as the inhibs bit regen at some sort of rate.

I have heard that the armor pen isn't working correctly and that is why they don't do any damage.

Lol by the time you are at the inhib turrets the damage they do is completely pathetic. Tanks don't eve lose health and even mid laners and adcs can dive those turrets. Its embarrassing that they claimed the turrets were stronger.

Make it do more damage, make it do either true damage or maybe percent hp. Do something so they aren't just splashing me with water.

Ryvaku11/24/2014, 7:21:25 AM2 votes

I think they should increase the damage to champions only. They are far too weak and can be easily tanked still.

HydraVenom11/25/2014, 1:47:28 PM2 votes

Ok ok, thats wrong.. I went Darius and had 1k hp 170 armor, died almost instantly. Not to mention that you do no damage to turrets when your alone,

SearingDarkness11/24/2014, 3:12:29 PM2 votes

Please go watch Trick2G trying to tower dive. Even he agrees that the towers hurt, once he gets to late game however it doesn't matter as long as you aren't under it for the 10 seconds you mentioned.

Xonra11/24/2014, 12:41:07 AM2 votes

I was able to dive under the inhib turret, with the laser scratching me, get a kill, and walk out at half health, because of the fight not the turret.

I genuinely didn't realize it was attacking me at first because at times, depending on how big a minion wave might be or fighting around the turret, you can't 100% of the time tell the turret is even attacking you visually.

FiniteApple11/24/2014, 1:23:09 AM2 votes

Wait. What damage?

arbine12/4/2014, 8:22:47 AM1 votes

As others have already said, I think the following steps could be interesting:

  1. Faster minion clearing for the base and nexus turrets.
  2. Faster target switching.
  3. Damage should rank up faster if you decide to tank the laser for a while.

Also: Might be a weird idea but why not try multiple lasers per turret. Situation: Turret already lasers a minion, enemy champion attacks a champion under the turret. Consequence: Turret starts a second laser hitting the enemy champion while still damaging the minion wave. This would indirectly also allow for faster clearing of pressuring waves and might be interesting, especially with the increased power of the minions now.

Just an idea though.

Angry Monster11/23/2014, 10:38:48 PM1 votes

to bad that damage is not their focus. But instead being a AR melting slowing beam that does some damage that ignores AR for their damage.

Legostrike11/24/2014, 12:18:34 AM1 votes

false statement, got wrecked as a tank Cho'Gath by one.

Desmond Law11/24/2014, 1:35:46 AM1 votes

It should deal 1% of your max hp per .25 second stacking 1% per .25 second

Ninpire11/24/2014, 3:00:42 PM1 votes

I agree completely. I can't even protect my tower with 2 people without the fed akali barely taking any damage turret diving

juice loosener11/24/2014, 6:55:12 PM1 votes

Turrets need to have increased firing rate and splash damage :D
