Just an idea for ARAM (Howling Abyss)

Even though there are many players who choose to play ARAM now instead of dodging when they get a bad champion, I thought it might be a cool idea if a player dodged a game purposely, they not only get the timeout, but they also have to play the same champion they dodged with. Some might say it can be abused, but I highly doubt it, since players aren't going to leave like that more than once and get lots of games in. I really do believe that it would keep that many more players from just dodging the queue. There's really no reason a player would dodge because they got a champion they wanted to save for later.

So what if you have to leave for real life reasons? No big deal, you're just going to play the same champion before you dodged.

The biggest mistake is that you assume players only dodge based on what champ they rolled. Any time they didn't like their team comp, they could just trade for the best champ in the team and then leave. Now they have an even better chance of having a good team the next time they queue since they have a good champ.

This has been talked about a lot. I don't have time to go into details, but it is both able to be abused and causes potential problems (multiple people in one game are pre-assigned the same champion, for example).

Oh hay, another dimwit posting this terrible idea. Hang on, maybe I can find one of my previous posts explaining why this terrible idea will never happen. Of course, that would rely on the OP having the intelli-smarts to understand why this unfeasible idea is unfeasible. (I should probably also include a link to Dictionary.com so the OP can read up on the definition of "unfeasible"). But with two posts already saying "BUT IM NOT SHARP ENOUGH TO UNDERSTAND WHY MY TERRIBLE, UNORIGINAL IDEA IS UNFEASIBLE", I'm probably just wasting my own time. Oh, here it is.

TL;DR: more intelligent players than you have already told you why this idea will never happen. Feel free to furrow your brows trying to grasp a concept that better players already understand -- you're on Turkey Day vacation, so plenty of time.

Oh, Neohlithical, while you're here -- could you post another "ZOMG UNLOCK ALL CHAMPS IN ARAM" thread? The forumboard needs more of those, and since you have plenty of time for re-hashing old/bad threads, why not add your non-insight to that particular subject too?

Just make the dodge timer 1 hour.

That will keep people from dodging.

Does a player who rrs get his rr refunded when he dodges? If so, that incentivizes dodging.

The game should be considered "started" at the champ select screen, chronic dodgers would then get flagged from leaverbuster.

The problem with that idea I think is that even though they're going to get busted later on, it causes problems directly in-game, which is what should try to be prevented.

So only assign it to the one who left? This is totally not abusable. You think people would sacrifice 15 minutes to roll the dice again randomly? Even if they do it actively more than once, that sure seems like a lot of time to get one good roll. The idea is pretty much foolproof. It's very simple to lock out a champion when joining a queue. You pre-mark that champion as taken out of the pool of available champions.

Then I still don't see the problem here. This isn't going to stop it dead in its tracks, sure, but nothing will to be honest. This is just an additional measure. I still don't see this being abused. You would need to basically wait out games for a good team composition. I mean, you guys are really digging deep to find issues here. You have to dodge the queue first for there to even be a chance of this happening. Even if it does happen, that still doesn't guarantee you a better team composition when you come back 15-20 minutes later and requeue. Do it again? I don't know how long the wait is after that, but I'm sure it's not a plus to abuse a system like this.

Edit:

TL;DR: Essentially to do what you are wanting to do to abuse the system, you would have to leave games and get a timeout from playing. You can't abuse a system that actively continues to punish you, that's the system abusing you for trying to abuse the system.
