How Different is 3's vs 5's on SR?

I haven't yet dabbled in ranked 3's. What are the main differences other than the obvious? What sorts of champions are usually chosen, and is it usually one to a lane? How rotations usually work?

Most common comp nowadays, as far as I know, is Fighter top, Fighter jungle, Mage bot. Some teams prefer to substitute a Tank support duo-lane top instead of a jungler. Marksmen are a lot weaker after the recent patch.

The map is a lot smaller than SR, so pushing out the wave and then invading enemy jungle or rotating to the other lane is a lot more common. It's even easier to do so after the outer towers have fallen.
