Suggested Item Changes (Bloodthirster, Essence Reaver, Zeke's Herald) Patch 4.10

Hello!
With the recent 4.10 Patch addressing AD items, I would like to take a look at a few of them, as well as a few older items. Now my original post mysteriously disappeared (GG Shaco) so I'm here to write a new one!

The first item I would like to address is one that hurt a lot of people when they changed it, and that's it, you guessed it, item 3072 !

Changing this from an offensive early buy, to a defensive mid-game buy changed AD a lot, and made IE pretty much the only viable B.F. item to build at higher levels of play (especially since the life-steal portion of this was nerfed). It's alright though! I'm here to suggest a beautiful change to this item that most, if not everyone will enjoy!

Bloodthirster
Cost:3500(1150 Combine)
Builds from B.F. Sword and Vampiric Scepter. 80 Attack Damage
15% Life Steal
Unique Passive: Basic attack grant Bloodthirst (doubled when attacking champions), increasing your Attack Damage by 1.5 and Lifesteal by 0.5% for 4 Seconds. This effect can stack up to 10 times.

The removal of the shield passive, while placing a new passive similar to that of Sanguine Blade from Howling Abyss, Twisted Treeline, and Dominion, you can allow for the excess of damage that early bully champs enjoy, while still not forcing it to be a first buy on all champions. Having it stack 10 times instead of 5 from minion attacks means that it will be very televised when a bully champ wants to go in. It also means to stack up, you will have to push lane and be, again, televised as being aggressive, opening you up to counter-play. Since the total damage and lifesteal is still less than the previous B.T. (Pre 4.10 Patch) and the cost is higher (at 3600), it is still technically a nerf, however it is still a bully item which many of us view it as.

Next on my hit list is item 3508 .

When I first heard about this I was very excited, to be honest. However when the item came out, I was disappointed to say the least. There is the easy way of fixing this item by simply making it more cost efficient, by either buffing the stats it gives (AD, Lifesteal, Etc.) or reducing the overall price. Both of these seem like safe routes, but I have a more... Radical idea.

This idea includes the long-forgotten Ionian savior, item 3123 . I'm pretty sure Riot themselves have forgotten about this item, but that's okay because I'm here to make it more appealing to everyone!

Executioner's Calling
Costs:1400(240 Combine)
Builds from Avarice Blade and Long Sword
25 Attack Damage
10% Critical Strike Chance
10% Cooldown Reduction Unique Active: For the next 6 seconds your basic attacks inflict Grievous Wounds for 1.5 seconds on hit.
(Grievous Wounds reduces healing and regeneration by 50%.)

Changing the passive to an active and reducing the crit. chance given, we can justify reducing the total cost by a good margin. This will play into the "new" essence reaver, as seen below:

Essence Reaver
Costs: 2800(525 Combine)
Builds from Executioner's Calling and Pickaxe
60 Attack Damage
20% Critical Strike Chance
10% Cooldown Reduction
Unique Passive: You gain 2% to 8% of the damage dealt by basic attacks as Mana. This effect increases based on how much Mana you are missing.
Unique Active: For 6 seconds your basic attacks apply Essence Drain for 1.5 seconds on hit. Essence Drain reduces healing and regeneration by 50% and redirects 40% of the healing reduced to you (20% of the total amount healed).*

*For example, if you apply Essence Drain on a unit, which is then healed for 100 Health, you will receive 20 Health and they will receive 50 Health.

The addition of a very unique active, removal of lifesteal, addition of critical strike chance, and increased total cost make this item a very nice Niche item to pick versus regen champions, or on mana hungry AD's. Since it doesn't offer sustain except for when the active is proc'd, it has moments of weakness.

The third item I will be talking about today is item 3050 !

You probably didn't expect that!

I think Zeke's is a strong item, but is overshadowed by items that can add almost all the same things (health and cooldown) but better. However I think this has the potential to be it own, unique and useful item.

Zeke's Herald
Costs:1900(400 Combine)
Builds from Cloth Armor, Ruby Crystal, and Vamp. Scepter. 200 Health 20 Armor Unique Aura: Grants Nearby allied champions +10% Life Steal and +15 Attack Damage

Offering up the 20% CDR is traded off for reducing the total cost to 1900 from 2450, the aura also offers less damage, but the same %Life Steal. The total health is reduced by 50, however it now gives Armor, great for front-line tanks or utility fighters.

This isn't everything though! I have more to add onto it! See below:

Runic Bulwark
Costs:2800
Builds from Zeke's Herald and Chain Vest
350 Health
70 Armor
Unique Aura: Grants Nearby allied champions +10% Life Steal and +15 Attack Damage
Unique Active: For 5 seconds you redirect 10%(+1 Per Bonus 50 Armor)(+1 Bonus 50 MR) of damage dealt to nearby champions to yourself. During these 6 seconds you receive 20% increased healing and regeneration.

Since Locket is now solely a MR item, have a team-based Armor item seems fitting. The active on this is beneficial to true tanks (Naut, Maokai, etc.) and allows for strong damage mitigation through distribution. Zhonya's and other "invulnerable" effects MAY have their own individual interactions with this item, so as not to just proc and Zhonya's reducing all damage your team takes by 10%. Or not, I can't say for sure.

What this does do though is offer more utility AD champs to have an item the is beneficial to their team and holds it's own as a niche pick item versus AD teams or heavy AoE teams. Again, it helps true tanks, as the damage redirected is redirected BEFORE reductions on whatever champ it would have affected, and instead is put on the champion who activated the Bulwark and THEN reduced based on their defensive stats. Making this NOT the item to get on glass cannons.

I recreated everything I had previously written from memory, since somehow my last post went missing (I am working to find out where and why exactly it went missing). This time I will save a hard-copy of it, just in case.

Thank you in advance for the feedback, remember to up-vote and comment!

I dont pay a lot of attention to how items are balanced, so i cant tell if these are well-balance. What i can tell is they sound awesome! I dislike the new bloodthirster alot and essence reaver is rarely seen because its bad (not really bad, but not good for most builds), your ideas make me want to make a build with them in it. Ive only bought Zeke's like once or twice so idk much about your change compared to original Zeke's.

So how does nerfing Executioners calling make it more pleasing? You should buff its crit and damage, then keep its passive a passive not an active. making it an active for only 6 seconds is a bad idea because then there is no counter to life steal/heal, I thought that was something that Riot valued Counter-Play. The buffs are a way to actually make it a "pleasing" item
