Rito plz, Open ARAM champ pool to all champs.

Opening the Pool to every champ, would allow us opportunities to explore new champs which would help us decide if we want to purchase them, the weekly F2P rotation is not enough considering a lot of people don't have a lot of time to play a lot of games every week. I only play ARAM, and I see the same 10-20 champs in every match out of 120+ champs. Even the F2P champs will choose the same couple champs almost every match.

That's also a pretty good counter reaction to ARAM-Smurfs, that only own champions that are exrtaordinary on ARAM, granting a higher chance of getting those particular champions (although they're pretty rare). I like the idea nonetheless! :D

Malicious Fury8/11/2015, 7:22:57 PM18 votes

I voted no.

Mainly because there are champs I hate playing as and I purposely avoided buying them. Sure there are RR's and trades. That's the point anyone will argue with me here. But If I can avoid the champion completely (except on free week) that is why I vote no.

Profirix8/11/2015, 7:36:30 PM12 votes

Yes, and here is why:

------Players create specific accounts dedicated to ARAM, in which they only unlock champions that excel in ARAM. This would make 'ARAM accounts' virtually useless. ------ARAM stands for 'All Random All Mid.' Its not 'all random' if you aren't choosing from the complete champion pool. ------Even though ARAM is inherently unbalanced, this would make sure that everyone is on the same playing field so-to-speak when the champions are being randomly selected from a pool.

I say yes. If for no other reason than as a big middle finger to ARAM smurfs.

ShowMeTheBooty8/11/2015, 7:41:27 PM8 votes

I'm laughing at those 13 ARAM smurfs that downvoted and voted no. :D

I'll pretty much always upvote this idea when it comes up.

I've got about 90 champions unlocked now. Not that interested in playing the ones I don't have, and I play enough ARAM that I'd rather not unlock the remaining ones just so I won't get them in ARAM (if I have a choice in the matter). if all champs were available for ARAM, I'd go ahead and unlock the rest of what I don't own. And then probably spend some RP on some of the awesome skins that are available for those champs as well.

Stackless Python8/12/2015, 10:22:24 AM4 votes

Yes. Make all random all mid actually random instead of selectivity random. No more aram stacking accounts.

Calibretto98/11/2015, 6:57:32 PM3 votes

But, but... I own all the champs. =( Seriously though, it does need to happen because too often you get players who have the bare minimum required meaning they're always landing on champs that are OP for arams. I've thought about doing it on occasion but I'm not that guy.

Maratsune8/12/2015, 1:41:33 AM3 votes

I see both sides to this argument. Auryiel had a response that I get completely- there are more than a few champions that I just despise owning and playing. For example, you wouldn't believe the amount that I've regretted getting that free Alistar skin just because I hate that freaking champion to bits. Whenever I get him and nobody wants to switch and I have no rerolls, I dodge. If I've spent 2 rerolls in one game and I get Alistar, I dodge. I don't even care about the wasted rerolls I hate him that much. I KNOW I'm not the only one with champs like this. Eghh... actually, the more I think about it, the less I like this idea. While I play too much ARAM to say that it isn't a serious mode, I do believe that at it's heart, it should be a fun mode. Continually being forced to play champions that you haven't purchased for a reason- that isn't fun. If you really are upset that you can't play a certain champ on ARAM, buy the champion.

Brian the Broken8/11/2015, 8:05:47 PM3 votes

But I understand why they don't. By giving you a limited champion pool it creates an incentive the player to save up to get new champions. Plus, it's always nice to have players playing as champions they've played before. It's no fun to have people playing poorly and costing other players the game because they've never played as that champion. Some take ARAM seriously. Do I? No. But I understand the logic.

MVDuneCats8/11/2015, 8:26:03 PM3 votes

If the problem is how limited the F2P rotation is, expanding ARAM to all 126 champs for everyone is a bad solution. It just wouldn't be an effective try-before-you-buy option with such a large pool of champs.

slippykitten8/11/2015, 8:45:16 PM3 votes

I never understood how ARAM didn't contain all champs. How can it be random champs if it isn't including all champs? That's kinda the same thing as counting cards in blackjack, it isn't exactly "cheating" but the casino aint gonna let it fly either.

it took me a loooooong time to figure out that it only gives champions you own,and when i found that out i was sad

Xekrov8/11/2015, 8:01:34 PM2 votes

As a huge ARAM fan, I would love to see this. I would love to see some diversity in the champs considering it's the same 10 every game. summoner 3

Meanie408/11/2015, 11:06:48 PM2 votes

You shouldn't be able to shape a "random" game mode by refusing to purchase all but a select few champions that are the best in that mode.

Random means random.

Hobbsgoblin8/12/2015, 5:58:20 AM2 votes

Maybe just have ARAM hold onto the last 2-4 weeks of free week rotations

Shosuko8/12/2015, 7:24:09 AM2 votes

I've said this a bunch of times because there are people who have accounts just for aram with just the aram op champs unlocked. It's also just a good idea as it adds to the randomness of aram.

Blue Moon Wolf8/12/2015, 8:34:51 AM2 votes

I've learned one thing since they made aram, and that is a LOT of people have mostly melee champs. at least that's my explanation as to why every 2/3 matches I get in aram, my team gets 3-5 melee champs, though that doesn't explain why the other team gets ranged champs :L so I'm all for a way to balance it out so that it's less likely to end up as a one sided poke fest

Kholdstare138/12/2015, 1:30:54 PM2 votes

I have a solution to fix the problems with the current system, WITHOUT requiring the full unlock, preventing many additional problems. It still promotes their business model since it rewards buying champions, it allows more customization so players are less likely to be stuck with champions they hate, and it perfectly balanced the odds of a good comp between teams with no regard to who owns what subset of champions.

Read the post and think about it.

MasterVidallis8/12/2015, 5:13:51 PM2 votes

I think this would be great. It would have no impact on players buying less champions since the overwhelming majority of players focuses on SR. But it would give new players a chance to try out champions and help them figure out what to unlock first for SR and what they like. It would also make trading a lot more fun before the match starts since you could trade anything with anyone and create a lot more diversity in ARAM.

I also bet it would increase how often players use the RP boost to temporarily unlock all skins, which is beneficial for Rito.

A+

Silmaril8/12/2015, 10:33:37 AM2 votes

A while back, Riot unlocked all the champions for a weekend.

That was the best damn weekend of ARAM I've ever had.

ihaveapotion8/12/2015, 11:51:00 AM2 votes

Yes, because it would at the very least kill off everyone whos cheating in arams using new accounts with only the god tier champs unlocked.

RaSTVaMPHuNT8/12/2015, 12:30:00 PM2 votes

YES! ARAM needs this. Maybe allow 1 more banked reroll and faster reroll accumulation to compensate, but ARAM needs to be truly random.

Maximum Zilean8/11/2015, 9:05:36 PM1 votes

It would be a great idea. But for me it would be rather bad personally.

I already own every champion except Teemo. (Screw the rat) And if this happened, it would sometimes force me to use satan.

And I made a holy vow to never play Teemo. No matter what happens.

Dessim88/18/2015, 12:07:36 AM1 votes

Opening the champ pool doesn't make it a mode about skill. You still have to have luck. Draft would negate a good portion of luck AND it would promote the purchasing of champions.
