Team Builder without draft pick is a flawed que.

The team builder mode has glaring problems much bigger than how long it takes to get a game. League of legends is based a lot on champion select and the champion select for team builder is toxic is these 2 ways: No interaction/way to see the enemy team's composition, and build a coherent team. The second being is that the user has no way of choosing based upon what team comp they want unless they are a Captain. Riot developers stared at the finger pointing at the moon as far as listening to community demand for a mode LIKE team builder, but have failed to communicate what their actual intentions for team builder are. Will there be draft/ranked? I see only one advantage in the present system over the other modes, and that's being able to Que as a certain champion in a role. Like I said, why bother playing what you want if the mode itself in it's current iteration is unable to differentiate itself from the other modes. As a player I couldn't care less about "playing what I want" if it means being unable to form a coherent team.

While I wouldn't be opposed to a Team Builder queue that implements a draft in some manner (I personally enjoy the draft portion and champion select) I think it's a bit silly to rip on the entire idea just because it doesn't currently implement draft. It doesn't need it to do the job that it is supposed to and it is still plenty fun without it. Let's be honest here, having draft in the queue isn't going to make teams compose themselves any better, and it won't actually mean much in terms of the enemies composition either. Having the information in champion select doesn't mean the team knows how to use it, how many games have you seen where someone counter picks themselves or the team composition doesn't make sense even though it is draft? I'm going to go out on a limb and guess quite a few, I know I see it all the time.

Also, can we stop throwing around these stupid buzzwords like toxic? Something isn't "toxic" just because it doesn't have a feature you want. It isn't "toxic" just because you don't know the enemy's champion. That isn't even what the word is supposed to mean.

Furthermore, if you actually go back and read the threads about Team Builder, it's design, and the direction Riot wants to take with it (as you should if you're going to make a thread complaining about it), you would already know the answers to whether or not there is going to be draft or ranked queue for it.

I think the point of team builder is to allow a person to play a certain role without any team conflict. Sure you might get placed against your counter, but you may also be placed against someone who you counter.

Champion select has a huge impact on how the game is going to go from a psychological standpoint. That's ignoring champion picks, being able to que as a role/champion. Which if that's the goal of team builder that's fine. I'm saying riot maybe missed the boat. My wish is that maybe riot would take a long time players thoughts into consideration. Not just my thoughts and input, but those of the community that Team Builder was built for. The community of league is what made LoL what it is, IE the massive success season 2 and onward. This game started off with a lot of things NOT going for it, client, store, implementation of ranked, league of cleavers etc. Listening to the community is what riot says they do, hence Team Builder. I'm saying it's fallen short and I'm just putting this out there off the cuff. Team Builder as of now is a worse off version of captains mode.

The whole point of teambuilder is to find a team that wants to try crazy stuff that you want to try. Want to go LeBlanc Fiddle bot? Teambuilder is for you, want to go Sona top, Teambuilder is for you. Want to run a perfectly Meta game where everyone is QQ'ing if you're playing something that isn't Mage mid, Jungler jungle, ADC Supp bot, Tank/Bruiser top? Teambuilder is still for you, but you won't enjoy it as much, for the very reason you just pointed out.

You shouldn't care too much what lanes/team comp you're up against if you're trying something "out of the meta".

Again, that's the whole point of Team Builder. ;)
