Game Mode Idea: Double Items

Ever wish you could build full damage Lee Sin but still have survivability in fights? Ever wish you could get 100% crit chance on ADC but still have room for a defensive item and boots? Want to build AP Jax but not be super squishy?

  • All gold income is doubled

  • 12 item slots

At 12 items, damage carries would be able to 1 shot anyone without a defensive item quite easily. So it would be important to get at least a few defenses. But tanks would also be much tankier. Imaging getting to 1000 armor. Last Whisper becomes pretty important at that point.

defensive items dont scale as good as offensive items, so what it would do is this: everyone would buy 3 defensive items or 4 at most and rest offensive, even "tanks" and because most "tanks" dont scale on damage as good as damage dealers and the more damage you deal, the bigger a range advantage is, the strongest classes would be mages and strong adcs like vayne, tristana and maybe jinx.

I feel as if this would do 2 things.

  1. Champions that get ahead early get ahead twice as fast. They could have 3 items by the time you're finishing 1, and at that point they can just farm a bit and get a few more kills and have their 6 items when you're at 2 or 3. So it would just create an unstoppable carry. 12 item Riven vs 5 3/4 item enemies... lol.

  2. The game would go the exact same way as a normal even-sided game, but items would just be built slightly faster.

I dont think this could happen. If bot lane trades a few kills and both ADC's have 5 kills 15 mins in and both mid laners are playing passively or one just can't get the last few damage on the other and the lane is 0/0/0 then theyre incredible far behind the adc's and will just get destroyed by roams.

The difference between 18-36 gold per regular minion and 300-600 for kill is huge. It would just be really unbalanced.
