If you get executed in ARAM

mrdude5410··4 votes·1,685 views

You should lose all your items and money. You're completely missing the point of the game, and it's bullshit. It's not "strategy," it's "being a coward." It's not like you made some brilliant decision, you just ran through a 5 line if/then.

You sound like one of those "1v1 me noob!!111!" or "lawl, took 3 people to kill me, you so bad!" people. The whole point of the game is to gain an advantage over the enemy team and push it until you win. Have a gold lead? Then do what you can to retain that gold lead and push it until the enemy has no choice but to fight futilely or surrender. Denying gold a good way of doing this, which is what executes are for.

It's like saying Zilean's ult completely undermines the point of the game because it has the power to deny you a kill. Same with Aatrox's, Anivia's. and Zac's passives.

Denying gold is a part of the game, executes deny gold. Sounds like a completely valid strategy to me.

Oh, so strategic variety isn't allowed and everything must be YOUR way?

Execution has always been a strat, even in SR, to deny kills if you're caught out but quick on your feet.

Not to mention that people do it in ARAM if they haven't died in awhile and want to buy items, but don't want to give up a kill to do it.

mrdude54101 votes

It's not strategic variety because it requires no strategy.

IcyPepper5 votes

... it denies kills... and lets you buy items if you're unkillable on ARAM. That's the strategy, I'm literally telling you what the strategy is.

Your argument is 100% invalid if you're going to make a claim with no supporting evidence and make no effort to refute mine.

I'm starting to think you're the one here who lacks strategic ability. You probably think split-pushing isn't a viable strategy, or that the meta is a law that cannot be broken. Unless your mind has some flexibility that hasn't been demonstrated yet, are my inferences true?

The reason the game is balanced is because players who gain more kills become weaker because they can't go back to buy items. Changing that completely ruins the point of the game. There's a huge difference between counterable strategies, including unorthodox ones, and ones that completely undermine the balance of the game.

IcyPepper5 votes

It can be countered.

You notice them slipping by your team? Just one auto when they execute themselves and you get a kill. If someone can seriously slip by your team, that's on your team.

And if they ace your team and decide to execute themselves... well, they aced you. You can't counter anything when you're dead, so it doesn't make this strategy any different from the rest.

mrdude54101 votes

That's the thing though, if they ace you and don't execute themselves, they don't have any new items, while you do. That's the point. Once they die, they have a ton more gold, but you're supposed to come back with at least some chance at them.

No one ever "sneaks by" a team, they always do it when you're all dead. You never have a chance to get that one auto.

IcyPepper4 votes

Well if you don't want people to do it, don't let your entire team die.

Otherwise, you don't really have a say in the manner, do you? (unless you have Sion, Zyra, Karthus, Kog'Maw, etc on your team...)

mrdude54101 votes

You don't always have a say in the matter. You can't control whether your entire team dies or not. It's like saying "If you don't want to get in a car accident, don't let your car get hit by any other cars."

IcyPepper3 votes

But you have some measure of control over it.

If your team gets aced, the enemy team outplayed you guys or overpowered you somehow.

Execution has always been part of the game, and has always been a strategy. You might not like it, you might find it dishonorable, but that's that.

Guerrilla warfare was frowned upon at the time, but the American colonies used it and won. It was considered dishonorable, but they won and got to write the history books for the American children.

See, what you're saying is absolutely true if all ARAM teams were created equal, but they're not. Some teams will absolutely dominate in the early game, and if they have the chance to come back with much better items much earlier than you, it's basically impossible for them to lose. It's not that they outplayed you, it's that they won "rock, paper, scissors." You would have a chance of coming back and beating them in the late game if they didn't constantly come back with better items than you. If executing yourself was in any way difficult, I would be fine with that strategy, but it's just way too easy for the benefits it confers.

So if my team can gain a lead over the enemy team, we are supposed to be punished for it to "even things out"?

Drunken Mutt5 votes

Its very strategic why would you give up shut down gold when you can get executed buy and then come wreck some more. You died why would you deserve that shut down gold you are not entitled to it you have to get it yourself.

mrdude54101 votes

You actually still give up shutdown gold, you just have items to fight against losing that shutdown gold. Killing the 7/0 Ashe with a tear and a doran's is incredibly different from killing the 7/1 ashe who got executed and now has an infinity edge.

Drunken Mutt1 votes

Nobody gets the shutdown gold if the person that has it gets executed thats why you die to towers when possible. She does not lose gold and you don't gain gold.

redniwediS4 votes

What on earth... I take it you're one of those never surrender guys too, eh? You're completely missing why it is a thing.

mrdude54101 votes

I'm fine with surrendering if a game is unwinnable, don't be such a dipshit.

FHMarshy4 votes

LOL "You're completely missing the point of the game, and it's bullshit."

It really seems to me, and the majority of people according to the feed back that YOU are the one missing the point.

Damn Dumb Logics

kokopelli24 votes

From what i can read, If you want to shop, you say we should just feed the other team a kill and let them possibly catch up instead of denying kills so you can stay ahead? ok lol

mrdude54101 votes

That's kind of what the game mode is balanced behind.

Gym Leader Yaki2 votes

u mad? Well stay mad!

Battleforge4Life2 votes

So many times ppl execute and I get up and take a tower. Boy they flame like you.

PandahHeart2 votes

If an enemy runs past your team of 5 and gets them self executed then it's your team or your fault for letting them. All you have to do is basic them or even hit them with a spell and they will not be executed. But it's strategic because the means less gold(especially shut down gold) for the enemy team. Why would someone want to give up gold, even if that means they can go back and buy an Infinity Edge. The point of the game is to win and having more gold = a better chance of winning.

mrdude54101 votes

You don't exactly always have that opportunity.

mrdude54101 votes

You gained a tactical advantage without using any skill. That's called imbalance.

Drunken Mutt1 votes

Thats not imbalance thats being smart. Don't be dumb and die and you can get the shutdown gold.

dnsup1 votes

It's not "strategy," it's "being a coward."

lol. Intentional tower execution is only "being a coward" if you're also not taking risks and making plays. But obviously you're wrong, in general: it's a very useful strategy for denying the enemy team gold.

BeatzBoyFTW1 votes

Just because you lost an ARAM game, and someone made a strategic move by going into your turrets and gets execcuted to deny you shutdown gold, does not mean you should be posting your rage here. You know you could also do the same if you were the one being fed, and not wanting to give up shutdown gold to enemy team.

Also, how the hell did that guy slipped pass through your team to get executed...?

blkh11 votes

Ok, here...

If you take damage from anything, turret or minion, and you are killed by the turret or minion... The last champ to damage you at any point in the match gets the kill and gold.
If no opposing champ has damaged you, then the last champ you damaged at any point in the game will get the kill and the gold.

Basically, if you die, either the last champ to damage you or the last champ you damaged, whichever is more recent will get the kill and gold.

You Die, they get credit for it.

I think that is obsessive and complex but I believe it has a spot of possibility.

I may have overlooked something there but you get the idea. No wasted kills or gold.

Hope that makes you happy to play ARAM now.
