New Feedback Regarding Spectator Mode
I'll try to keep this brief.
The spectator mode needs some adjustments. Specifically, the automated camera. While trying to watch the VODs for RNG, I found myself nauseated by the constant bouncing of the camera. This problem is exacerbated by Kalista's jumpiness, but has problems beyond that.
For example, watch from the 20 minute mark in the VOD. Kalista bounces around and the camera shakes back and forth attempting to keep up.
Similar incidents can be seen at 8:25 and 10:20, among others. In addition, the camera will frequently shoot back and forth between 2 or more characters for less than a single second.
In simple english, it's unwatchable.
The autocam needs some upgrades for the current state of the league. For example:
- Have a 2-second (or other arbitrary time period) cooldown between camera jumps. Split-second shots are terrible viewing.
- Slow the camera acceleration, so that it does not indecisively swing back and forth as much.
- If the camera focuses on champion A, it cannot 're-jump' to champion A unless said character moves at least 1000 (or other arbitrary distance) units away from its original spot (i.e. follows TF ult and other teleports, but not Kalista jumps)
The camera work in casted games is fine. I'm not sure if its the casters themselves or someone off to the side running the camera, but they do a great job. But the spectator mode autocam needs some improvements.
