A Faction-based Game Mode

With the Bilgewater update, we've found out that lore enthusiasts were most certainly not forgotten with the expansion of one of Runeterra's lesser known factions. This sent my mind straight back to my interest in themed teams! Themed teams are hells of fun especially for lore and faction enthusiasts like myself, but it can be hard to find friends with both availability and interest in theme dream teams at any given time. So What I propose is a mode specifically designed for it. ** PICKING A FACTION** -At the start of the game, there is a picking period for each team deciding which faction they'll all be using. -This replaces the ban phase of draft and is done by a vote from each player. -If both teams gun for the same faction, first team to all lock in, gets it.

CHAMP SELECT -Once both teams have locked their faction, players now lock in their champions. Only champions from those factions are selectable. -There IS a substantial imbalance between champions from each faction, and this can be remedied by allowing a player with a skin relating to the faction to be selectable. (E.G. Void Fizz or Void Nocturne in a Void team) -The solution to the problem of not having a champion from X faction can be remedied as such: If all the champions from said faction that the player owns have been selected already, the player can use the random button to auto-lock themselves into a random champion from that faction EVEN IF NOT OWNED (including skin-related picks like Void Fizz) ARAM rerolls can be used just like in that mode to attempt to get a champion you can play better. The first use of the random button DOES NOT use a reroll, but DOES lock the player in automatically.

FACTIONS Available factions would be: 1.DEMACIA 2.NOXUS 3.FREJLORD 4.SHURIMA 5.IONIA 6.THE SHADOW ISLES 7.THE VOID 8.BILGEWATER 9.BANDLE CITY 10.PILTOVER 11.ZAUN (CLICK HERE FOR A LIST OF CHAMPIONS / SKINS IN EACH FACTION (and let me know if I missed anything) )

(Mount Targon would be an option but there just aren't enough champions for a team by any stretch of the imagination item 3070 )

IN GAME The rest of the game should be pretty much the same as any other game mode but with the added fun of special taunts and playing a rendition of THIS IS WAR in your head. (yes that was a big inspiration ;p) I would personally put it on Howling Abyss / Butcher's Bridge for a more lighthearted and stress-free experience, but would you put it on a different mode? (let me know in the poll) Love to hear if others are interested. Honestly not sure how many would enjoy this!

This would be a great next event for Riot to do. Another addition would be to possibly have summoner Icons unlockable just like this event. Maybe an event like with the pool party where if you get X amount of points for Y team, everyone who played one game for this event will get a certain skin/icon/IP boost weekend. This idea has the potential to be a great game mode that possibly rivals URF.

Oh, the poor lore fans. It would be awesome to have actual struggles between Factions, and Riot should consider a game mode like this. They've been thematic before, but they haven't actually correlated to real events.

Something that would be nice to see is if the minions changed to match the faction you picked, similar to the PROJECT skins changing the minions.

A harder, but equally or more rewarding option is to have your half of the map changed partially to the style of your faction. This would leave the jungle untouched, but change the paths and base. Not only would you have the option of an awesome Void style nexus and base, but it would also allow us to see more architecture from Demacia, Noxus, or any of the other factions.

On the note of Mt. Targon, I would recommend having a number of champions being part of one or two 'free' factions. These free or mercenary factions are willing to work with other sides than their own and allows for a larger pool to be used. Rammus would be selectable for any faction because he can't say no.
