Ranked Match Making

So I was in my promos and was currently 1-1. Started the game was ADC. Straight off the bat, Mid and my Supp instantly dies 3 times and I'm sitting here, 0/0/0, think how can i possibly win this game? Top and jungle start dying too, so I try my best and end the game 4/6/10 under the circumstances. I look into the players who were on my team and find that they all had 3 or more losses in a row. The enemy team all had won their last game and most were on a streak. So my question is, why were I matched with players who were tilted and were put against people who were doing quite well. I had won 2 of my past games, so does the system expect me to carry my entire team? (Also I had won 2 of my past games so I don't know) And can someone please explain to me how match making works because I can not carry a tilted team against people who are doing well and are not tilted. This is not the first time this has happened.
