New type of random gamemode.
I've been playing LoL for over a year now and something has always caught my attention, NOBODY likes to be the last guy to get the role he wants and getting stuck as Support
. Now i know that is a bit of an exaggeration because there are people who main and prefer support and a good support can carry a game, but most people wanna be a Bjergsen, a Forgivengre, a Huni.
Team Builder helped to alleviate some of this by letting you pick the champ and role you wanted (as long as it was "meta" or else you'll be waiting 30 minutes to queue up), but still most times you are waiting for someone to go in as a support. Now what if there was a game mode where, once you queued up, you were given a random role to chose from and a select champion pool based on what the champions' primary and secondary roles are?
For instance, you get the Support role, you pool would consist of:
Primary -
Secondary -
.
If you didn't own them they would be available to you still. I feel like this game mode would broaden a player's champion pool greatly and possibly create some new tactics that aren't seen often or at all.
Now I know that the roles that Riot has placed on the champions doesn't really pertain to today's current level of play, I.E. Ashe and Gangplank support are usually troll picks. I also know that Jungle isn't a role given to champions. In light of this Riot could post threads in the forums or send out surveys asking whom do we think of when we think of that role. For example, who do you think of when you think of a Jungler? Jarven IV. Vi. Leesin. Etc. Then take the X amount of the most decided upon and make that the pool you get to choose from for that role.
This is only a suggestion as to a game mode to alleviate some of the 5th pick burden on players. I would appreciate input and not complete bashing of the idea. Thank you! =D
