Suggestion: A tagout system for leavers/AFK's

Here's my story. I'm a full time EMT who and I love LoL. My life would be perfect if I could play LoL at work, but I can't for obvious reasons. If a call comes in I have to drop whatever I'm doing and go. That got me thinking. What if we had a system where if a player dced or AFKd another player of comparable skill could temporarily step in to take their place? I was thinking about a system where players could browse a list of games with afk's/DC's and then join temporarily to take the afk's place until either they return or the game ends. Naturally since you're not playing your own game the rewards would be maybe a ribbon or an icon for X amount of games rather than LP. What do you think?

Sounds like a good idea to stem the negative inpact of AFK and D/C'd players,. If they could list the eligible games for subbing once the d/c'r or afk'r have been disconnected for a reasonable time for logging back in, like say 5 minutes, then once someone else joins in. the last person is totally removed from that game. Though they might want to place a desertion timer on the d/c'd player like wow does to ensure people don't take advantage of the 'well, I'll just get replaced" mentality of some afk'rs.

I like the idea, but how would somebody queue up for this? Would somebody really want to join a queue for a game knowing that the team they're joining has had a 4v5 for 5+ minutes, is probably losing, and that they won't get full rewards?

Maybe league could have it as a punishment mode? where people whom AFK often have to step in for others whom AFK? I don't know, just jotting in some thought to your thoughts.

Could be its own sort-of "Emergency Call" section on the mode list. Games that have people who have left for over a certain amount of time (and didn't just temporarily disconnect for less than a minute, of course).

Titanfall Ranked (if anyone remembers that game, that poor little FPS-MOBA that could) has this system. If the 6v6 is upset, someone can join in (games don't stop in Ranked, so you're almost always going to join a game in which the first round doesn't involve you getting ranked points...Most people simply consider this their warm-up), but they won't get ranked bonuses/points if it's too late.

Their Titan's countdown clock and such are adjusted to fit the game's timer, though.

But the match simply doesn't count toward their own ranked score, but they do help the team's score. They still get to play normally, but rounds are certainly short enough (Attrition games last maybe 10-15 minutes, depending on the map size) that they're fine waiting for the next one. Series of games work like that. Just a thought.
