I don't know how I didn't see this before....

I was looking at the VPBE page on the LoL Wiki, and noticed something about the Shurima event, supposedly named Ascension. One of the bullet points under has information that was found to be related to an in-game event:

"Something to do with Xerath"

Of course it does. The event is supposedly called Ascension, and Xerath's title is "The Magus Ascendant." ASCENDANT. So there will most likely be an event like the current Freljord and Kha'Zix v Rengar one involving Xerath. As someone who loves playing Xerath, PLEEEEEEEEASE LET THIS BE TRUE :D

I believe the Shurima Lore Event was a past thing. I think Riot wanted to make a big deal out of it, just like the Freljord Event in April of 2013, but ran out of time due to the Harrowing. During October of 2013 (when the Shurima event was meant to happen), many of the Shuriman champions were updated. Nasus had his VU came out along with Infernal Nasus, Xerath was given a new kit and splash art, Sivir & Cassiopeia's champ lore as updated, Rammus received a texture update, and rumors of the "sand mage" flooded in. It looked like it was about to be a big deal, but then the Harrowing came. Everything just kind of passed away.

Seemed like a missed opportunity for Riot that they don't talk about.
