Why did the Gods join League of Legends?

I am curious as to why the beings of Bard, Tahm Kench, Anivia, Soraka, Aatrox, and the Kindred joined the League of Legends. It isn't like they need to prove themselves. They know they are gods. Maybe for Tahm it was so he could feast on the most delicious miseries, and Soraka so as to find those who are the most in need. But what mysterious reason caused Bard to join, and what is Aatrox up to that he would need to? Perhaps Anivia is trying to learn more about her world? Preparing for the darkness she feels in her lands? And the Kindred? What do they gain from the League?

If there are some fellow summoners who could help enlighten me, I would really appreciate it. :D

The League no longer exists, which does suit the presence of these supernatural entities.

The League of Legends is not canon anymore.

The institution is no longer canon meaning it's more of just an imaginary battlefield at the moment allowing for a larger cast of characters to be included but no real reason for any of them to be their.

Aside from the whole retcon thing: These champs aren't gods. Bard is a spirit,we don't know what exactly soraka was before(many think she was something similar to bard),Tahm kench is a demon and we can't be sure what exactly anivia is,but she is also called a spirit by illaoi.

kindred is the only one who could be a god,but even they might be more like an avatar of death,not death itself.
