Something I just want to mention that the Universe site is still in beta. Nothing there is finalized canon. There are a number of things that are more likely to be canon than others, but nothing there is finalized canon.
Just want to point that out.

The Universe SITE is in beta. The information there is not in beta.
Once they push their lore into live it's considered canon. Otherwise there's no point in having it, it just becomes meaningless.
The site being in beta doesn't mean the information isn't official. It comes directly from Riot, it's made to fit into the story they're telling. The released lore is canon.
It's mostly Canon. Until riot inevitably retcons it again. Like a champion is a champion. Until riot inevitably reworks it deleting the old one.
