What accent is that?

"Only a child and no one came to save me."

Feels bad. Kassadin All for naught.

so she was just a child after all! not a young woman as JoJ said!

She sounds different than I thought she would

She sounds so calm, not even in a "serious hunter" way ether. It's definitely an interesting choice.

"The Void consumes everything-"

Except Mary Sues, apparently.

What does Mary Sue mean in this case?

"A little _Too _ perfect." is a good term.

I know what a Mary Sue is, how does Kai’sa Qualify for the label?

What does Mary Sue mean in this case?

The term harkens back to a tongue in cheek Star Trek fanfic written to make fun of author insert characters. One of the most common unifying themes of a Sue is that they're flawless in a fashion that often breaks the setting in some capacity.

In this specific case, we already know that the Void is directed in some fashion by an absolutely indomitable Will and that mere proximity to the Void warps and twists everything around it (See: Sol's lore. See: all the poor champs mutated by Void exposure.)

Kai breaks both of these expectations by being an exception to them. She's undaunted by the Void corruption and she's somehow able to overpower the Will of a whole universe to keep her suit in check. This trivializes the horrors earlier champs have been through and seriously erodes the existential threat the Void poses.

She came through this physically and psychologically (if the VO is any clue) untouched. If some random child can survive like this, then why is the Void a threat at all?

So where in her lore is it said that she survived this untouched? It looks to me like she’s been very much touched, she wears a living void creature. Do we know the creatures motives? It’s thoughts? Does it have a nefarious plan for her?

There are many possibilities for her character. Jumping to conclusions is illogical.

Did you listen to her VO? The suit has no input. She feeds it and it doesn't eat her. That's the extent of their relationship. She's a totally normal human with a totally normal human mindset. All she got out of her experience was a living suit of Ironman armor. It even has the palm-blasters.

How about we ask a different question. Why does she need a suit at all? Why not just say that this is how she was mutated by the Void, but she managed to hang onto her own mind like her father did? Nearly one hundred percent of the current complaints would evaporate. People are irritated because turning the Void into something you can survive with the right space-suit cheapens the threat it's supposed to represent.

There are many possibilities for her character. Jumping to conclusions is illogical.

Inductive logic isn't illogical, but it might not be well justified.

Given that Riot has gone out of their way to give her an out to avoid being mutated and her VO is a pretty standard steely-eyed hunter/survivor type character, I would say the Sue label is pretty well justified. No physical mutation. No alien mindset. Just a hard-as-nails gal in a neat space suit. It breaks everything we've been told about the Void thus far.

Now, granted, that's Riot's prerogative. If they want to totally discard all the tidbits we've been given about the Void thus far that's totally up to them. They've made it obvious that they're more than happy to do that to champs. Why not whole factions?

The most boring voice work Riot has done in many months, maybe years.
