How do people find lore?

I recently got into league because I wondered what all the fuss was about. I played a couple of matches, bought a few champs, and continued to play. I then realized that this game has alot of lore to it. I was interested in Jinx's lore so read about, and figured out that Vi and her are enemys. I thought "cool" and went on with my day. When I was browsing the shop I found this guy named Ekko who can time travel. I read his lore and the comic I heard that he had. I decided to go on the league wiki to find some things I missed about him. I learned that Ekko, Jinx, and Vi were once in the same gang. Not only that, but Ekko had a crush on Jinx aswell. I'm posting this to know how do people find this stuff? Are these just fan theory's that we all accept as fact? Are devs really letting us create the lore? I'm also wondering how do we know so much about bilgewater and how people found out all about the history of bligewater? ( I read the burning tides thing too).

Frankly, they weren't. At least not Ekko. He's way too young for that. He might've heard about Jinx and Vi and hold them as an example, but that's about it.

As to Ekko's crush his own quote is "I had a crush once, but then you started talking to a gun." spoken as an in-game taunt towards Jinx.

A lot of this is from their VO's. If you want some noncannon lore that is amazing, I suggest going to the wiki and searching, "The Journal of Justice" or JoJ for short.

The official lore is written by the Narrative team. There is fan-fiction I heard about though.

However, what you read there on Vi, Ekko and Jinx is official lore.

Don't get too attached though on the older champion lores because a year ago or something Riot said they were reforming the old lore to something new -- invalidating whatever info you read, it might still be enjoyable, but it's not 'canon' anymore, until we know the new setting Riot is coming up with to explain the game League of Legends and its champions.

Cool stuff to catch up on is the Zed, Nocturne and Shen relation/lore. Pretty neat ^_^/

Overall I think the Wiki is one of the best sides to look for the lore.

The lore is currently in a kind of messy state, they are retconning and restructuring a lot and had supposedly some dire tech problems that interferred with that, but those seem to be solved now.

They still haven't updated some lores and the lore is usually hard to find, the wiki though makes a good job at gathering all the lore pieces.

Zuan really needs more elaboration, hopefully with the next bilgewater scale event, it willl cover this stuff
