Which Champion is Your Favorite From a Visual Standpoint?

FirexSaber·7/13/2015, 5:14:23 PM·29 votes·8,534 views

And why?

For me, it has to be Tahm Kench. He may not be pretty, but he's really fun to watch walk around the rift. His walk animation makes me ridiculously happy for some reason. His outfit as a whole really has its own character- it's very nicely put together. Also: dat hat.

A close second for me is Leona. I like the fact that yes, she's pretty, but she also had armor that looks like it could actually protect something, rather than just show off the boobs and butt, like many women in fantasy armor. (Not that there's anything inherently wrong with boob armor, I suppose, but it's definitely a nice change. )

Diana Even though I don't play her a ton, Diana has always been my favorite from a Lore and Visual standpoint. Well designed and beautiful.

Sharjo7/13/2015, 6:24:44 PM14 votes

Visually? It's really tough to say, but I'll try.

Sion is so well done it's mind blowing. He walks with a limp but he still feels imposing and unstoppable. The sheer force you see in his abilities is really great to behold.

Tristana and Heimerdinger are bouncy and vibrant with tons of expression and personality in everything they do. I think Trist is better done than Heimer, but there's no denying both are amazing.

TahmKench is also really great. The way he moves, the facial animation, in fact just facial animation makes these champions great. Sion, Heimer, Trist and Tahm all have amazing faces that just bring them to life in really amazing ways.

There are a few others I haven't mentioned, but these four are the main ones who just stand out to me as being really phenomenal in terms of appearance, animations and in-game presentation.

I have always really liked how they got Cassiopeia to move. Even during her taunt, it's funny seeing her actually slithering.

  • And in a side note, I used to LOVE everything visual about Pre-Rework Karma. The fact that her dresses had many colors, and in every skin her fans complemented her dress without being identical but relative colors spinning around her cylinder model...she was GORGEOUS.

  • Also, love pre-rework Trundle. His classic skill is still nice because it has the grimy feeling, and the pillar is still a pillar of filth (pillar of ice?..). The only thing that old trundle made cooler was how sickly he really looked. He had warts, his colors were dull AND he was VERY skinny. He looked on the brink of death. This one just has warts, but he's buff and humorless.

Catastrop7/13/2015, 6:55:17 PM9 votes

Lissandra She just looks badass. The fact that she moves around in ice is even cooler because it just adds a nice flair to an already elegant champion. Cassiopeia Is also up there with her too, I mean a half snake, half human? How could you not find that visually appealing. Fiddlesticks Then there's him, but I feel like he's lost the visual appeal he had when I first him(First champion just because he looked badass).

My Second favorite would have to be Lucian. The orderly look to his coat and well groomed look to his hair gives him an air of control and honor. And the white coat combined with the bright light of his abilities shows purity. But His coat is not clean white. There is darkness all around it. It has black trim, black gloves, black pants... The same goes for his abilities. They are bright light, but there is a dark edge to them. The light is still shines bright, but it is fading. His honor and control are slipping away. This once great man is on the verge of losing his sanity. http://i.imgur.com/ZyHKsyG.gif

I would have to go with Aatrox. He truly looks like a creature built for one thing and one thing only: War. What appears to be armor is actually scales. What looks like a helmet is really horns. His wings are not built for flight, but rather are natural banners. Even his sword is a living entity. To him, killing by the thousands (or tens of thousands) is no more unnatural then a lion stalking its prey. The battlefield is his natural habitat, and we are simply guests. https://38.media.tumblr.com/d01ab757a81075ce16395cab255b4acc/tumblr_n44x9ymw0t1twrq37o1_500.gif

Gnar Gnar's dance

ChaosThief7/13/2015, 6:37:33 PM4 votes

Gnar is probably my vote.

I mean, COME ON, how do you even compete with that?

Variks the Loyal7/13/2015, 5:30:37 PM4 votes

This is really tough. Like, really tough.

For me, it's a cross between Renekton, Rengar, and Sion.

Renekton is Leatherhead from TMNT. Which is awesome. Besides that, crocodiles are my favorite animal and his blade is really unique and cool.

Rengar is a friggin' badass, and it looks like he made all of his armor himself out of remains from things he's killed.

Sion is just mindblowing.

Tesla Effect7/13/2015, 7:55:39 PM3 votes

Bard Azir Yasuo These are my Top 3, there are ranked in no specific order, I like them all of them visually equally.

Now his visuals have certainly failed to keep up with the current level of fidelity and detail that many champions have, but his design has always been an incredible hook to his character. People enjoy champions that look badass, that appear like they could not just survive in a fantasy world but thrive. Aatrox Garen Katarina Pantheon, practically every character looks like someone you do not want to mess with, and then there is Veigar. We have seen spikes on tyrants Mordekaiser, incredible cosmic power Bard, yet here is this tiny creature that is trying his hardest to match the intimidation of other fearsome beings, and it just falls flat.

Until he turns someone into meat confetti.

Its this suggestion of terrible power and frightening evil that does not seem sincere to us, because smaller creatures appear less threatening. Then you see the Master of Evil in action and you know he has every right to claim his title. There is not greater being of insanity, sadism, and despair wrapped in an image of incompetence that holds absolutely no reflection on his actual capabilities.

Vi Has to my favorite. It feels so good to punch people because how well they designed her. My least favorite is TahmKench sorry op. I think the tongue thing is gross

I personally really get a kick out of Malzahar and Syndra . You just look at them floating through the air and the "badass mage" image is easily invoked.

MajinBuutcheeks7/13/2015, 5:26:41 PM2 votes

Zed . The moment I saw him I was like holy shit, I must learn how to play this guy! He looks like a complete badass. His mask reminds me of Ichigo's Vizard mask from Bleach.

i am not noob7/13/2015, 5:34:04 PM2 votes

Syndra for sure Syndra then it would be lissandra <3Lissandra legit the moment i saw syndra i thought she would be evil as fuck in "Style"

Lulu

I'm a huge fantasy fan, especially of everything concerning magic, mystery, spirits and faes. Coupled with her looking ridiculously cute and appealing (and having amazing quality skins), I just couldn't resist her. And the fandom love for her is just icing on the cake.

After realizing how fun, versatile and trolly her kit is, I started to main her.

JayenKei7/13/2015, 6:55:21 PM2 votes

Ssw talon because he looks like he came straight from assassin's Creed

Krizalid7/13/2015, 8:12:22 PM2 votes

Aatrox Vladimir Sion I just really like the blood-themed characters.

Sassmast3r7/14/2015, 1:10:07 AM2 votes

Hmm... this is exceedingly difficult. I'm going to have to go with... Irelia. Many people may disagree with me, but in-game she looks very beautiful, especially so with Order of the Lotus/Aviator. And her whole kit's visuals just look amazing in my personal opinion as well.

Rico Nasty7/14/2015, 5:45:25 PM1 votes

Janna 's design has always looked so elegant to me, it really executes the windy girl concept well. I also really like her current in-game model and how she floats. It's almost mesmerizing, lol

Teachan7/14/2015, 6:08:24 PM1 votes

Bard Did you know his arms are patched and stitched up? :D

Nautilus

Jax Has to be the most badassly entertaining fighter to watch in the game

Tsumikiri7/14/2015, 11:11:15 PM1 votes

Kassadin His new model looks so amazing with tons of expression. The animations make him feel super satisfying. I also love that a Rioter apparently did the majority of the work on the model as a side project in his/her own free time. I love hearing about Rioters who go above and beyond because they have so much passion for the game or a specific character. :)

Jungle Lux God7/14/2015, 11:50:47 PM1 votes

From a visual standpoint, I would have to say Skarner .

There's a lot to like about his visuals, mostly because he looks like a purple scorpion with a blue stinger, all of which looks completely awesome.

I also really liked his walking animation. It's just so fun to see him crawl around the Rift and such.

CasterGilgamesh7/15/2015, 12:02:10 AM1 votes

Lissandra Braum Talon Zyra a special note to her she has such good color mesh it's so perfect it hurts Graves Cassiopeia Katarina Kassadin

Seekêr7/15/2015, 7:17:46 AM1 votes

Yasuo because I am a final fantasy fan and his ult reminds me of sephiroth and his cowboy skin has a frickin' gunblade, obvious final fantasy influence :D

second choice has to be both classic lissandra and blade queen lissandra, she is just so thematically awesome... black ice guys....black ice..

MJayMonkey7/15/2015, 7:30:44 AM1 votes

Super Galaxy Rumble has always been awesome. Favorite by far. For champions I like Kalista and Lissandra

Embertine7/15/2015, 5:04:20 PM1 votes

Um. . . . .I'd have to go with Leona here.

Leona - Her design is simple and fitting. Her armor is just right for letting you see how beautiful she is, and doesn't cover her up like Garens does. It also goes to serve in cementing that her power is from the sun itself, and not her own. It does this by not making her look intimidating, but rather unprotected instead. While her armor itself may be very little, her shield truly makes up for it. Her massive shield is the largest in the game, (Braum's is a door, not an actual shield,) and its thickness alone gives the impression that attacks will not get past. While her sword is large, rivaling that of a clamor, and has significant weight behind it, letting you know that one swing is all it would take to cleave a man in two.

(Please note this is all by a visual standpoint, and has nothing to do with actual gameplay.)

Halofire7/15/2015, 5:08:24 PM1 votes

Anivia Anivia's new splash art is so gorgeous. I use her Blackfrost skin and it's really nice too, I think she would benefit from a classic texture update.

Boomerangbro7/15/2015, 5:17:38 PM1 votes

Nocturne Something about him is just so fluent and fitting for something so hard to embody. The sheaths coming out of the billowing wisps of smoke just makes for an all around beautiful creation.

Toa of Death7/19/2015, 1:47:41 AM1 votes

I'm probably in a minority here, hell probably the only one, but I love Cho'Gath's look. He's meant to be an extremely intelligent and scary monster and his visuals emphasize that by making him look monstrous. When his eventual VU comes, the fact that he won't have a traditional skin makes me really sad as I've played a majority of my League games with the current Cho. I grew up watching monster movies like the Godzilla movies so I have a soft spot for hideous monster creatures.

Rivvy7/19/2015, 1:57:11 AM1 votes

I'd have to say Quinn, as one of my current favorite champions I think everything about her design looks pretty cool.

Kamiroo Wolf7/19/2015, 2:06:20 AM1 votes

Sivir Just like hexa, i may not play her the most often but i love the way sivir feels. Visually she is amazing, and her lore isn't the worst

Rundus17/24/2015, 11:21:12 PM1 votes

Simply for appearance? I'd have to say it's a tie between the insane(ly fun) Jester Shaco and the rebellious young fencer Fiora (as she is now. I don't really like how they're aging her 15 years and making her look like a disney villain, but as she is now she's awesome (visually).
