I've talked with my friends before about this and it still hasn't been explained to me, why are the male yordles typically furry and female ones are not?

Its basically the concept of sexual dimorphism, where there's distinct differences between the male and female members of a species.

Why are human males typically really furry and females not quite so much?

The female Yordles were originally a separate race called Meglings, but Riot retconned the Megling race into a specific military force of Yordles. Google "Megling genocide" if you want more details.

How can we sexualize a female character if she's all furry and stuff?

For the same reason why men have beards and women don't. Facial hair (in this case fur) is simply more common among male yordles than female ones, they simply evolved like that.

Although I've heard that the blue shopkeeper from the SR is supposedly a furry female yordle,so maybe there are exceptions(or the females merely shave themselves)

It has to do with the male yordle hormones.

To account for kickass facial hair.

1- First, female yordles are indeed furry, but is a short fur, so it looks like skin (So yeah they are not blue, that is the hair)

2- Not ALL the female yordles less furried, some they are more furried (since aparently new yordles are strong influenced by the fancharacter Rin the yordle)

and with the base of that premise:

3- The same reason male humans have more hair.
