There is no point in them saying it. The point of it is that they don't need to say anything. If they come out and say "oh hey look taric and ezreal is together" it would just be forced and act like they are pandering to people and having a gay character to have one (and the correct way they are doing it is by having him as he is now and it is inferred). So no they should not "just come out an flat out say it"
I like to think that in that splash Taric is looking right at Ezreal here xD
