I'm not sure how to feel about the new Varus

On one hand I love the idea of multiple people coming together to wield a darkin. It makes me wonder how many would it take to completely make it submit to the will of the users? How similar would the users have to be? Just the idea opens up some nest ideas.

On the other hand I hate the new Varus (the darkin). It just seems so bland. He's like the embodiment of vengeance, and kills people for no real reason. The other Darkin feel like they have a purpose and goal in mind. And it's only wore when you compare it to the old Varus (the man). He was sworn to protect people, but when he lost everything he became the very thing he was sworn to guard against. Embracing that power to fulfill his needs, slowly losing, and hating himself every second along the way. He was a man doomed to be consumed by his own hatred and failure. To lose himself to the power he gave himself up to. As he would put it a man on "borrowed time".

At the end of the comic, Varus swore to find his brethren. In the short story, "dark kin" Varus talks about finding a sister of some sort.

The new Varus does have intentions. 2, actually. The two lovers are fighting to stop Varus somehow, and Varus is trying to bring the remaining darkin together.

Or so it's implied, at least/
