I've been noticing this for a while, but it just got so obvious with this story. Heros: Caitlyn, VI, Ekko, Jayce, probably some more that I'm not thinking of Villans: twitch, Mundo, Jinx, Warwick, Viktor, Camile, Urgot (Duh), and probably some more.

But yeah, Piltover and Zaun are just becoming Leagues "superhero" area. Im fine with that, THough some people might not be.

I respectfully disagree. I believe most of these characters are neither hero, nor villain.

  • Caitlyn has very little characterization in regards to her ideals. Working in the police is certainly heroic, so it makes sense chalking her up as a hero.
  • Vi's tendency to excessive violence removes her from the hero category for me. You wouldn't call a cop who physically injures already captured suspects a hero.
  • Ekko is just a teenager. He's a good kid, but everything we've seen him do was for his own sake or basic human decency (like not letting a friend fall to his death). In my opinion he wasn't exposed to a situation that could make him a hero yet.
  • Jayce has serious character flaws. He killed multiple innocent people in Zaun, and Victor got all the blame. He's showing heroic traits, but his arrogance causes him to dip into being a villain occasionally. In the end, I think he's neither.
  • Twitch, Mundo, and Jinx I agree with, although it needs to be said that I don't believe any of them is innately evil.
  • Warwick is definitely not a villain. He gave up on his life of crime and even after his transformation tries to use his predicament for the good of the people via some vigilante justice. Not a hero either, since he's willingly endangering innocent people or even killing them when he loses control.
  • Viktor is more of a hero with questionable ethics. He's trying to help humanity and isn't forcing anyone to share his ideals.
  • Camille has been talked about quite a lot already. I agree that she shows more villainous traits than heroic, but I don't think her actions are malicious enough to be considered a villain. But that's pretty subjective.
  • Urgot is a special case. I'd argue he is both villain and hero, just to different people. His actions are not for personal gain, but certainly not for the good of everyone either.

I wouldn't consider camille a villain entirely...

Can't believe you forgot Jayce, he's literally Tony Stark with a hammer instead of a suit

Camille isn't a villain WTF.

She's a hero who minds her own business by protecting her own clan, the only when she does the city jobs for Piltover and Zaun is either when she is paid to do so or when they are threatening her own clan.

What on earth is villanous and evil about that? Did you at least try reading her stories till the end...

Disagree with some stuff. Camille is not a villain for me, as others have pointed out. And Viktor is definitely not a villain, too. Viktor is simply misunderstood. He wants to help people and unlike many people want it you make believe (cough Jayce cough), he will not do anything to you if you do not agree with an augmentation.

Viktor wants to help humanity improve. If you let him, he will augment your body to make it more efficient. But if you don't want that, he will let you be. He is not a villain in the slightest.

However, don't know if this is really something unique to Zaun and Piltover. You can make this differentiation between heroes and villains for many regions in my opinion...

This trope can literally be applied to any region. Any game lore to be exact.

Demacia, Noxus, Ionia, and Bilgewater etc.

It's not as if Riot wants to push that kind of trope. It's just that's how people will always see it that way.

I feel like thats what makes Piltover and Zaun very interesting as they are the closest to modern civilization in terms of technology and they could be considered the Gotham/Metropolis of Runeterra at least imo.

Cait: Definitely a hero as she clearly takes her job seriously and doesn't fool around like Vi

Vi: Is a hero who has those bad tendencies but she cares about keeping people safe just not as much as Cait as she isnt as caring of the job

Ekko: Hes just a kid but hes willing to hurt himself over and over just to save one person which makes him very heroic

Jayce: In my opinion he is not a hero. Jayce puts off this Im a hero of Piltover and will always save the day from the villainous Viktor despite Viktor being the better of Jayce where if I recall Viktor wanted the gemstone to help the people of Zaun and Jayce wanted it for himself

Zac: You forgot him but he is very much a hero of Zaun. Emerging from the tight spaces to help people who cant help themselves and he can feel emotion which shows that he cares for the people and wants them to be happy

Camille: She is like apart of house lannister in the early seasons of GOT where she does what she has to in order to keep her clan in power which means killing people who oppose that or could get in the way, She does show villanous traits but I would call her more of a Punisher or some other hero that kills type because to some Piltovians she can be seen as a hero where as a Zaunite or another house shes a villain

Blitzcrank: I consider Blitz as a hero as he is constantly roaming Zaun cleaning waste and created by Viktor to serve and help Zaun and as such can be considered a hero

Twitch: Dont know enough about him but from what I can tell from other posts hes not the best and kills alot of people so I suppose hes a villain

Jinx: I dont see her as a big bad villain just a troublemaker type villain and not a Urgot type villain

Mundo: Hes a villain due to killing people as a attempt to cure them despite them not being sick and as well just being a threat to innocents

Janna: Shes a hero as she is very helpful in Zaun and if I remember she helped when that water opening went to shit

Singed: Villain. Helped Noxus kill innocents in Ionia with poison, Captures people and experiments on them like Warwick, and generally not a nice dude

Urgot: I see him as a villain. Hes willing to let people kill themselves so that the few who survive live. He wants a Noxus like Zaun where the strong survive and he doesn't care if people die as long as he can achieve his goal, he is also very smart and not some giant brute like Mundo which makes him a huge threat to both Zaun and Piltover

Viktor: Hes a hero. He gives people augments to help survive Zaun's terrible enviroment and doesn't force people to change if they don't want too. He isn't involved with the cult/group of the Glorious Evolution despite them making it after what he has done for those people

Warwick: My favorite Zaunite and I can say with certainty that hes a hero, maybe not the one you'd want due to him going berserk at the scent of blood but he wants to help Zaun by killing Chembarons and doing what he can to stop those who harm the innocent, yet he can mess up like in his story where he follows a girl to a group of Gray Nails but ends up going crazy and kills everyone and isnt sure if the girl died.

These are the champs I consider Heroes/Villains the ones not on the list I don't see as either
