With all the lore stories on Miss Fortune, you’d think she’d have an updated VO by now

She still has her release voice lines - it seems just so out of place considering all her character development lore-wise.

How is this still a thing?

Update: Figured I'd flesh out my argument slightly since it's getting a little attention ^_^

We've seen a fair bit of her personality and different aspects of her character - it would be great for that to show through in her voice lines.

Burning Tides - Essentially her debut story where we see beyond the flirty, gun slinging bounty hunter and learn that's a persona she's cultivated for her true aims. She manipulates Twisted Fate and Graves into a confrontation that sets the stage to bring down the Pirate Lord of Bilgewater, Gangplank. I believe the term is "outplayed."

Shadow and Fortune - Having taken her revenge (and potentially control of Bilgewater) she has to ponder what's next and what kind of leader she wants to be - while contending with the Black Mist.

Fortune Smiles - A personal favorite. Not sure if it's before or after Shadow and Fortune but we see Miss Fortune solidify her hold on Bilgewater and take out some of her competition along the way. While I still hold that the tragedy of her story is that in avenging her mother she's becoming more like Gangplank, here we see her consciously trying to be less like him. Sure, she still ends up killing them all, but makes sure to do it cleverly.

They had planned to do it when they released GGMF (was going to be the same actress as that skin), but the lines didn't work out for base so they had to take the script back.

They desperately need to finish that sloppy ass "VGU" on her. The model update to her is what they qualify on the same level as Gangplank, Poppy, and Irelia - a VGU. This is not the case in the slightest. Her animations are still the awful, campy animations from launch (her guns clip each other in her dance for crying out loud), she doesn't even have a homeguard OR proper recall, and animations they should have given her in a VGU are now "cool new features" in skins like Star Guardian. Come the fuck on Riot. Finish what you started. Don't give champs like Miss Fortune a simple model update, and then call it a VGU when you can't even update her animations or VO. I want Miss Fortune to look modern and feel modern. At current, she's a 100 year old antique sofa your mom reupholstered to match her all leather living room - it still creaks, groans, and buckles from 100 years of use, but it looks pretty with her leather armchair. Miss Fortune needs to be brand new, not something antiquated with a pretty finish.

Riot said they worked on new VO for her base skin while doing her ultimate skin.

The VO had mixed reviews internally so they decided to hold off and do a better job later on this year

Because Base MF is her pre event. Captain MF would get the updated lines because thats her after the Bilgewater event.

Champions like nunu , mordekaiser and pantheon need a VU much more than mf .Her model is not that bad and the lack of lines is a problem that all old champions have...we just need to be patient and understand that riot must set priorities..mf's time will come but it wont be any time soon..

Her lore update was a result of the bligwater event that brought to us the Gangplank VGU..

MF is pretty bad in this regard. Kassadin's even worse - no lines about or to his daughter, even upon her release. Or about Malzahar, his sworn enemy. VO dissonance stands out much more when you don't have lines to your child.

For some weird reasons, Riot seems to not work on In Game character development anymore outside off full pledged reworks. this is kinda sad, since so many champions deserves work on them, without actually having to change their gameplay

I remember a thread about this, can't remember which one but a Rioter sort of emphasized that they liked the way her VO currently works and that they might not even plan on updating it. I'll be honest they might just not want to have to change her VO, takes too much time.

It's a shame though, Overwatch does a great job of updating all their heroes' voice overs to make their roster feel more cohesive and up-to-date, I can't see why Riot isn't doing the same for their champions.

Honestly I'd settle for one piece of writing that's not just a long-winded way of saying she hates Gangplank.

I mean seriously, Gangplank killed his own parents too, but do you hear _him _ whining about it?

I think it's safe to say that Shen also deserves a VO update. There are numerous stories involving him that has been released since he got his update.

I really like her VO, it has a very aloof charm to it. I hope they keep it in some form if they VGU (like on a classic skin)
