now that Aurelion Sol has long been released and played , it can almost be safe to say ao shin is now off the table. Don't get me wrong I've tried aurelion and he is an awesome champion to play , but i had a lot of hype for ao shin. The only fleeting hope is that when the Ionia storyline is released , riot may consider redoing ao shin again. they should've released ao shin tbh, sol is such an akward champ in terms of matchups, he either does decent or gets destroyed in lane which sucks

however ao shin with his tornado thing and his flame/wind breath shown in the images would've fit a lot better in the game than sol who is entirely reliant on his passive and positioning

We could've really used an actual tornado champion (not a bland 1 second knock up "tornado" like Janna's or Yasuo's).

yeah especially since he looks like he's taking the form of a tornado and not making one, that would've been cool to see

Ao shin was only a concept on paper,its not like they had a model ready for release or anything.

People are so dumb. Ao shin was never gonna get released so they gave us a half assed version of him and called it a dragon. Well guess what nobody even remembers him, and much less calls him a dragon.

I like Aurelion Sol as he is. He has a good visual, interesting story, and unique gameplay. That said, I still would've at least liked Aurelion Sol's release skin to be like Ao Shin. Something like Traditional, Ionian, or Strombringer Aurelion Sol to pay homage to this.

They actually clarified in a riot post that Aurelion Sol IS Ao shin,or rather what Ao Shins concept eventually turned into(they actually made a thread about this before Aurelion Sol was officially announced) and I think they even mentioned this again in Aurelion Sols champion insight.

And nowadays Riot generally wants every champion to have a unique theme of their own,so Aurelion Sol isn't a chinese dragon from the roster,but he is THE chinese dragon,meaning its pretty likely that there'll be never other chinese dragon-champions in the game.

Really the best thing you can hope for is an Ao shin-skin for Aurelion Sol,kinda sad that they didn't do that for lunar revel.

That would be a cool skin. Don't you think they can do more chinese dragons? I mean Auralion sol's theme is a star/cosmic dragon and not a chinese dragon. I'm not sure that another dragon that is chinese looking will interfere with auralion sol aslong as it is different enough. I don't think they will ever remake ao shin but perhaps they will, in the future, make another simillar champ.

Overall I doubt that "cosmic dragon" counts as its own theme,I mean by that logic the next 10 champions could be different elemental dragons.

And Aurelion still has the body shape of a chinese dragon.

That is true, but I still think it wont interfere with Au sols theme if they make the two chinesedragon-shaped champs different enough.

The sole reason why they chose to make a chinese dragon instead of a european one,was because they wanted to avoid similarities with Shyvana. So if they already chose a completely different dragon type to avoid similarities with a half dragon,then it seems really unlikely that they would introduce a second chinese dragon.

And it would likely rob Aurelion of his most unique theme,because "wielder of space powers" is likely not going to remain unique to Sol,since Targon is so much about space now(heck Pantheon was described to come down falling like a meteor and have a cape with stars in it,in the new lore) and since Sols siblings were already mentioned in his lore,it is likely that they'll introduce more cosmic beings like him eventually.

Then there is the fact that they could pretty much turn any concept of a chinese dragon into an aurelion sol skin,especially since they clarified that the "half invisible lower body" of Sol was made due to programming problems,meaning that another chinese dragon would need to have such a body as well.

I agree. I would rather want more cosmic beings in the game than more chinese dragons. And I didn't think of that we already have champions with similar cosmic themes like Bard and Soraka (and the aspects of targon).

Would like to see some new au sol skins (he is one of my go to midlaners) because I dont really like ashenlord so much (if that is what the skin is called). I can see a ao shin/storm dragon skin fit or a firecracker au sol for next years lunar revel.

yeah,its kinda sad that 2024 is the next year of the dragon,because sometimes they give us lunar revel skins that fit the zodiac of the year: 2012(dragon) had 3 skins that were called "dragon-something" 2013(snake) had jadefang cassio 2016(monkey) had radiant wukong 2017(rooster) will get warring kingdoms azir

So I kinda fear that they won't give us an Ao-Shin based skin for Aurelion sol until 2024(unless they go back and add skins for the zodiacs,who didn't get fitting skins the last times,similar to how fnatic got their teamskins later on because they won the first championship)

But in either case I think it is safe to say that Aurelion will likely get a skin in 2017.

Whoever was working on Ao Shin was extremely incompetent. They had 3 years to work with him, and for some reason they decided he had to be rushed all of the sudden, which is why Aurelion Sol happened and why his kit is so bad.
