Lol's lore is the lore of legends but for how long?
So we all know that story telling and lore in video games has always been a bit of an issue. In the documentary "Video Games: The movie" which can be found on netflix there is a part in which a few writers talk about how story telling in video games is very tricky. They explain how stories and lore are things that a lot of gamers hold very close to their heart. We as humans love story telling we love sitting together and telling stories around a campfire, we love to scare each other with bone chilling tales when it gets dark outside, and we love to make each other feel warm inside when we tell a story about love or something like that. The point is we love stories. How does this tie into league you ask? Well it ties in because me, and people like me, love lore but it's disappearing. A lot of the champions I play were chosen by me because I read their lore and thought "damn that is fucking cool." Best example I can give you is Yasuo. Yasuo is by far my favorite champion in the game. When I first noticed him I previewed his abilities then went straight to the lore. I read it again and again it was just so cool. His story is long but not too long and it's simply amazing. His lore could be exaggerated and lengthened into a whole book or movie. How can you delve into a character is "The intrepid young adventurer Ezreal has explored some of the most remote and abandoned locations on Runeterra. During an expedition to the buried ruins of ancient Shurima, he recovered an amulet of incredible mystical power. Likely constructed to be worn by one of the Ascended, the enormous talisman nonetheless fit snugly upon his arm, amplifying his raw sorcerous skill to such an extent that he's gained the reputation of a hero, much to his embarrassment." That's pathetic it just barely scratches the top of what lore should be and what it used to be. Ezreals lore used to be much longer and much more in depth. I hate seeing the lore of this game reduced to garbage for no reason.
