Nope, it's not flat. It's an oblate spheroid. The map that you see is a rectilinear projection.

Runeterra is a region. It's not the actual planet itself. They confirmed that a while ago after the map was released

Pretty sure that Riot is leaving the other continents on the planet unrevealed too, I think they were planning on having Valoran and Ionia not be the only landmasses
