Welcome one. Welcome all. This. Is. LORE BATTLE!!!

It has been written in stone summoners! LORE BATTLE! is now a weekly series. But, it looks different... and shorter...! Well, yeah! This week I'll be trying a new format for the series. Tell me what you think of the shorter format in the comments! I thought it would be more accessible and allow for more open discussion. Now, let's get going!

Last Week's Winner: Darius!

With his faster and more tactical movement, the Hand of Noxus has a good advantage at the slower yet stronger and bulkier Might of Demacia. His Noxian Guillotine however could probably cut right through his enchanted armor and his aim for critical points of the human body would probably make Garen bleed a lot, nullifying his above average regeneration.

LORE BATTLE! RULES

  • These battles are not based on gameplay, but on the characters. That means we're not discussing whether X is a counter to Y or anything, but rather who would win if they fought in say, a movie or something! Think Batman V Superman. Gameplay is our main gateway to know a champion's skills however, so we take it into account either way.
  • Both of them are to be considered at the level of power they are at now. Whether they would win in the past or with more training is a discussion for another day...
  • These battles are to the death! Or at least until a TKO. All character moral values are nullified, in order to accommodate this rule.
  • If you want to vote based on who you're rooting for to win, you can do so!

  • Death Mark: Zed quickly dashes to his target enemy, summoning multiple shadows to assist him, marking his target with the "Death Mark" which explodes shortly after, worsening any wounds applied to the enemy in the meantime

Overview: Zed is a flippin' ninja. Naturally, he is pretty quick moving around in battle and sneak-killing enemies. His mastery over the forbidden arts would probably give him an advantage, as his shadow warriors and control over his shadows, would allow Zed to outnumber the opposing duelist and have an unlimited supply of shuriken ranged attacks, before closing in for a fatal Death Mark.

Overview: Shen is also a flippin' ninja. Although, a different one at that. Shen, unlike most ninjas, doesn't rely on sneak-killing his opponents, rather, when it's the time to fight, Shen is always ready. His Ki Strike attacks can be very deadly, but require some power from Shen, not being able to use them in quick succession. Shen is very fast at striking with his swords, and usually keeps them sheathed even while in combat. Shen's ancient Kinkou abilities allow him to imbue his swords with an extra kick and to protect himself with a shield ever so often.

I feel like between the shadow tricks and the weapons up every sleeve, Zed would win.

I've always felt that lore-wise, It would take Kennen, Akali, AND Shen to take down Zed.

Not gameplay wise, obviously, I feel that his shadows would be crazy OP in a real life scenario. This one isn't even a close match for me. Hands down, Zed would win.

Also, I don't think Shen has the kill potential to take down Zed. Check out his death animation. He'll always find a way to get away alive.

Lore-wise, I truly believe Shen would dominate Zed. Sure, Zed has range and shadows, but Shen has conviction and, well, tank power. Shen hits Zed and gains health from each slash... Zed? Well, he can shadow teleport away only to have Shen dash up and health gain slice again.

My vote is with Zed.

The Master of Shadows has a much greater emphasis on killing a single target than Shen, who works better as part of a team. Shen can win a battle of attrition, which is something Zed's talents as an assassin do not grant.

I still want to see Orianna vs Viktor.

Lore-wise I think Shen has better tact and talent than Zed. Zed stole and adopted forbidden arts to overcome Shen and actually be better than him, but I think its only a temporary advantage. There is a reason forbidden arts are forbidden, there are probably some downsides that Zed hasn't accounted for.

I vote Kassadin vs. Malzahar for the next fight. Or MF vs. GP. Or Nautilus vs. Fizz.

Zed would win over Shen, simply because he's a much better dualist and much more maneuverability second by second basis. Shen would put up a good fight, but it wouldn't happen.

i feel like when zed beat shen with his shadows that one time, shen might've gotten pissed and made like a super secret anti-shadow light sword or something idk

I think zed wins Next battle Elise VSNidalee I saw this this week between zed and shen. Forgive me if these characters were in a previous lore battle.

Well Zed defeated shen already once,but I dunno if Shen was the eye of the twilight at that point already,so shen most likely became a lot stronger since then.

However Zed and his disciples were able to overthrow the kinkou which speaks for their strenght(despite the fact that there doesn't seem to be anyone noteworthy among zeds disciples),so I'd say that Zed might still win.

I would say shen. I know that zed has his shadow but on the other hand shen has an ability where he can heal him self (essentially life steal) that would make him a tough opponent AND to add to that if he hits zed with it and he has a team then they will ALL heal (atleast i think so) also if he is away from zed and zed is killing one of his teammates he can use his ult which will defend him and then he will teleport there and help his teammate kill zed.

I have (this is no joke) managed to get my friends who have never heard of lol to buy zed and shen and then have a face off in a custom match and... shen beat him using his shield attack, tankiness and the heal.

I think Zed would win because in lore when he got the power from the forbidden box, he was able to defeat Shen

Zed already defeated Shen. I think Zed is like that villain where the "team" needs to deal with him, in this case, Shen, Zed, Akali and Kennen. So, in 1 vs 1 I go with Zed, after all, he defeated Shen once.

What are the limits to Shen's ultimate? Can he drop the shield on himself? If he can drop the shield on himself then I'd give it to Shen.

I think zed is more powerful then shen cuz he opened the forbidden box and he have thé power of 3 shadows i love u zed 😈

Shen can only w i think the shield then his ult or q wont do dmg against shen so probably shen but when he doesnt have it so then can zed win

Shen is virtually emotionless, leaving him in a calm state. No matter how many shadows Zed will cast, he'll see through and strike the real one.

Why would people even argue about that, why do people talk about stuff like "shen has shield" that should be completely left out as i dont see how a shield would work in a real life scenario, zed createst unlimited copies of himself that copy every abbility he makes, he can distance himself non-stop and hit shen from many different angles at the same time, zed would definitely stomp shen and i don't even know if the entire clan of shen, kennen and akali would be able to defeat him as whenever he feels he is in danger of losing a battle he can back out and let his shadows kill the enemies..Zed Shen Akali Kennen

This is tough. I feel Zed is a better fighter in general, but I think his emotions could potentially get to him, whereas Shen knows the value of remaining calm and collected. They both have some emotional issues to work out from their experience chasing Jhin, but unlike Shen, Zed kind of succumbed to it.

I say it would be close.
