Zoe's Design isn't Cohesive.

Zoe's overall design is like 2 characters and a Disney character mashed together. Her kit doesn't match her appearance and her appearance doesn't match league.

Why does a hyper, crazy child have the ability to put you to sleep? Surely she should do the opposite if anything? The VFX feature stars and butterflies and moons - but then she looks like she's from the DS game The World Ends With You. Her model features nothing that represents the twilight except for the end of her hair - which itself doesn't fit the rest of her design imo. Shouldn't she be a more serene character with a flowing design since she's the aspect of twilight that puts you to sleep? Or at least more of a Mystic Elementalist Lux vibe?

Imagine a huge artwork of all the champions in league. Zoe would stick out like a sore thumb. The champions that are similar to her right now character-wise are Lux, Lulu, and Annie. But Lux is a mage with armour. Lulu is a magical yordle, and Annie is a dark and evil pyromaniac child Zoe is a girl who has two toned hair with glitter. Also for some reason she has the power to put you to sleep and steal the spells you use.

Her VFX don't match her. Her kit doesn't match her. She doesn't match league. Her design feels very forced - as if she was designed without the game in mind, and the only thing that mattered is "Hey, look! We have a kooky child character now! Just look at how cute she is." I don't mind having something different in league. I don't mind having a hyper child character. But her design is not cohesive.

tl;dr I think Zoe's design sucks.

Okay, I've been keeping myself out of conversations about Zoe for a little while, but I honestly want to step in now, 'cause everybody's saying the same thing without a whole lot of thought to it.

and her appearance doesn't match league.

Where has League had a single, uniform appearance that completely defines each and every Champion in the game? Riddle me that.

But let me stop you there, because I'll tell you; you can't find anything of that sort. You can find distinct sub-categories of appearance (medieval noble-bright of Demacia (bar Vayne and Lucian), medieval grimdark of Noxus (except LeBlanc and Draven), advanced technology like Zaun and Piltover, Asian-themed appearances of Ionia, etc.)

But, when you look at each Region, you can see a fair amount of difference between characters. Sure, each Region has its own visual thematic, but there are always going to be outliers, always someone unique. Whether it's Taliyah's colorful robes differing from the massive godlike forms of the Ascended, Lucian's cold white coat differing greatly from Garen's blue-and-gold armor, or even the well-worn tatters of Yasuo compared to the ninja getups of Shen, Akali, and Kennen.

So, no, there's no universal visual standard to League for Zoe to "not match" with. And even moreso, we're talking Targon, which has the most varied appearances in its (soon to be) five Champions (not counting Aurelion Sol). Let's have a look, shall we?

Leona - decorated in stark gold armor with red cloth underneath, with tassets streaming over her lower body like rays of sunlight, and the evocative spiked rings depicting the revered Sun, it's clear that Leona would be a vessel for the Solari's deity, the Targonian Aspect of the Sun.

Atraeus - I don't really have any good descriptors for Pantheon besides his obvious appearance as a Spartan warrior, but suffice it to say, the Aspect of War had a reason for choosing him.

Diana - Alabaster hair, dark blues and dull green cloth accenting dark, silvery armor, and her crescent blade evoking the crescent moon, Diana is an avatar for the Lunari's deity, the Targonian Aspect of the Moon.

Taric - Formerly Demacian, he still wears what looks to be his old attire, but now decorated with cool blue cloths and silver Targonian jewelry, the Aspect of the Protector seems to not have had much influence on Taric's appearance - though, he's not a Rakkor native to Mount Targon, so likely he wouldn't have clothes or armor draw any inspiration from the Aspects. Still, he stands out from the other vessels of the Aspects, moreso than they stand out from themselves.

Zoe - With little to no information about her, we can only stand to assume about this child. Was she a mage before encountering the Aspect of Twilight? Where did she originate from? (I saw a Rioter mention that her outfit would certainly stand out from where she lived.) If we look at all the other Targonian Champions, the only reason she really stands out is because she's an adolescent Champion with really weird clothing, and that she's happy and goofy.

But, so what? We have Leona with super old, uninteresting quotes ("I will protect you." "Stay at the vanguard!"), Diana with technically outdated quotes (scornful nature and unapologetic heresy instead of the recent lore stuffs painting her as more curious and remorseful but understanding a new duty), Pantheon being absurdly fight-happy, so much so that it's hard to take seriously, and a Demacian who waxes poetic about beauty at every opportunity.

Surely, with those four and Captain Sass Dragon in the mix, surely to god we can have a goofy, giggly, happy, friendly kid running amok with portals, star magic, sleep magic, and spell-stealing.

Surely.

Honestly I love the crazy characters like lulu jinx and ivern. In terms of personality i really loved zoe, But i cant see her design as part of this game, I guess it'll take everyone a while to get used to it. [sg-lulu]

i must admit i would love to see a girl with long dress and maybe a harp, wavy hair and in purplish colours with this kit ( something like mix between undine and harmonia in summoners war ) but i think zoe herself looks fine
