Sivir's....Skin color?

Hello.

I wanted to express my concern about a few art consistency changes in regards to Sivir. She's been my first champion and is one of my favorites. I admire the culture and world she represents and she resonates very close to my heart. But I feel some of her recent splashes do not depict her as Sivir. She looks like a completely different person- Her facial structure and skin tone do not resemble her at all. I may or may not get any feedback/ response to this post but as long as I post it- Hopefully someone will see. These champions hold dear to our hearts and are disheartened when something drastic happens to them or don't represent them in the fashion that we know in love- so why change that? Please feel free to express your opinions on this as well.

and even her in game model:

as seen in the Cinematic:

and the newly (soon to be released PAX Sivir splash)

Facial Structure and skin wise- this does NOT look like Sivir it looks more like Irelia.

I know there will be someone who says: "It's the lighting!" . I don't think so. You can take different people with different shades of color in place them in different lighting(regular lights not colored ones ) but could still be able to tell what race they are by their definitive features. I disregard the chinese splash arts as they are only temporary and will be replaced.

I remember there was so much backlash in regards to an artist's portrayal of Illaoi. It's a very touchy subject because here you present an Artist's own rendition of a character vs the officially licensed portrayal of a character.

**Here is Illaoi; as presented by RiotGames and their respective artists along with original concept art.**

To many people, they wouldn't see this rendition of Illaoi. Maybe perhaps a person cosplaying as Illaoi? In the spirit of Illaoi?

There could be another post for Nidalee too.

-sigh-. I thank you for taking your time in reading this. Feel free to post and comment about what you think. Hopefully if this gets seen enough- it can possibly be altered?

Thanks

Her normal skin tone is slightly tanned probably due to a frequent dose of sun and UV rays from the Shurima region being very desert-like

snow day sivir is lighter probably due to being wintery/arctic themed, usually places where there is little sun and UV rays.

the pax one idk, it's pax. Winter and pax are probably what she'd look like without the tan.

Skins are mostly not canon, though there are exceptions.

That being said, a skin can portray a completely different champion if you will.

Look at LeBlanc's latest skin for instance, she's clearly not even human in that skin, she's a forest fairy.

Soraka has several skins which alter her skin tone, one of them which she's made human. In the latest one she's a robot.

These skins retain the champions names just for the sake of game clarity and whatnot, but they're mostly portraying different beings. Since you mentioned Illaoi, Void Illaoi is a good example of that.

There are very few skins in the game which are canon.

To be honest, it's something that I sometimes look over seeing as how Riot changes things all the time; but this is an interesting topic. I was never good at noticing changes like that but I guess to someone who really appreciates the champion, it would feel wrong to not bring it up. I'm sure if they changed Miss Fortune or Lucian somehow, I wouldn't feel right about it either.

Skins can have different skin tones... Lucian Most extreme example.

Skins are meant to be an alternate fantasy of the champions, so they are going to have a lot of different aspects to them, especially when you look at the splashes.

Sivir is meant to be egyptian/middle eastern, but you also have to remember that she has gone through 4 splash art changes and has had an equal amount of changes to her lore. She was originally from Noxus(I personally think she is half noxian in lore) before being retconned into being from shurima. that is why her facial feature is different. looking either caucasian or middle eastern.
