I loved loved LOVED the Reborn promo!!! I loved reading it and the way it was written!!! KUDOS FOR WHOEVER WROTE IT!!

Reborn IS off to a very nice start. I'm hard to impress, but less is more and they've captured the essence here, that the IDEA of Sion might be bigger or more useful to Noxus than the man.

Really liking the idea that the creation of an undead general might originally have been more of a political move than a strategic one. I can ACTUALLY buy that! The common problem with the whole "robocop" premise is that incorporating the body of a character is an unnecessary complication... In a world where one could pragmatically make an unstoppable golem from scratch, there isn't a practical need to get the flesh of the fallen involved.

The ONLY reason to go to the trouble of reanimating someone is if there's some sort of emotional or psycological attachment to that corpse such that you get something special out of the marriage of science and cadaver, some reaction out of it that your standard construct wouldn't illicit.

Shame there were some hiccups along the way, but I could have asked for this to turn out better.

Next is never a question I'll be able to satisfactorily answer unless I get to make an official announcement, but there are a few projects in the pipeline for before end of year and other things that are a bit further out.

Of course people can't be satisfied when something gets a good review. They just eat it up and force themselves onto the next thing. Calm your dopamine receptors down so you can actually enjoy something for a bit.

There wasn't anywhere in my statement that said Riot is great at everything. Take off the hater glasses and try to actually look at statements objectively before you make false assumptions about other people.

I loved it all the way. The political intrigue, the ambience, the tale of a defeated hero and his influence on Noxian culture. An excellent plot I must say!

So am I. I just wasn't impressed with Shurima, even disregarding the fact that it came hot off the heels of a controversial reboot, the whole event was less about an actual story and more about a mish-mash of random loose ends, we didn't even get a passing reference to other champions whose lores were touched by the event, like Skarner, Amumu, or Rammus, and it was pretty much just a resume of things that happened, X does Y thing, Z wants W, and so forth, with little to no emotion or characterization.

Reborn is pacing itself considerably better already by opening up with how Sion died, and what his glorious death represented to Noxus, the visuals, the ambiental music, and the huge temple in his likeness further drive the point of how important he is to the Noxian national pride, showing us why he, of all the soldiers in the Noxian army, will be brought back from the dead (though that does imply Urgot will need a Lore rework... His accomplishments look kinda lame next to Sion now...). It also starts to set up the circumstances of his revival with the poster rallying the Noxian population into war with Demacia and with the short story of Darkwill, Leblanc, and two other mysterious characters that we'll see continuation in the next few days.

So yeah, kudos to Riot, they actually caught my interest there, here's hoping they can keep it.

I very much agree; what i think happened with Shurima is Riot seeking to just get a foothold, and start the new lore, without blowing up are screens with walls of text. I expect that each faction will get a reboot one at a time, being more detailed as we go on (as there is less to spoil) and once they work through it all, they will give more and more lore.

This is all conjecture of course, but it seems to make sense with what Riot is trying to do.

Fully agreed. THIS is how lore should be. This is on par with some of the great lore this game had in its past, and was presented in an awesome way.

I was largely disappointed by the Shurima event, and I'm not happy about the reasoning behind their removal of the IoW, so right now the lore team is very hit-or-miss to me with more misses than hits. Still, it's good to see that they can still pump out great content at times.
