I'm more confused about Zed dateing Xayah. How did that happen?
Seems like it. Maybe a descendant or stolen powers? Who knows at this point.
Also, the way his personality pulled a complete 180 against Ionian's caught me way of guard. Being a Karma main, it was kinda unsettling.
The term given leads me to assume Swain was once a normal human, but something happened where he got Vastayan blood. I think he got into a nearly fatal accident or something & a Vastayan gave him some of their blood to save Swain's life. Swain likely used his new powers for his own gain.
Notice how he claims other characters are Vastayan too. It seems more to me that he associates transformation and athro characters as being vastayan rather than them actually being of that area.
That or Swain used their blood to achieve his power rather than actually being a descendant of the people.
I don't know about Swain, but I have thoughts on Udyr.
Everyone seems to be taking the word "blood" literally, but I doubt that it's meant to be. I have a feeling that all it is is that Udyr has a strong connection to mystical animal spirits, while Vastaya probably also have a have a strong connection to mystical animal spirits, perhaps even a genetic or "blood" relationship. Which would mean that Udyr, while human, draws power from a source at least similar to what the Vastaya draw power from.
Rakan seems a little… upset at this, but I have a feeling that it's just because he's not the most educated person when it comes to Udyr's job and intentions. He says
It is from our blood your gifts came, and my hand that took it back.
I still believe that the spirits that give Udyr power do so willingly, but Rakan seems ignorant to this. Almost like he's been indoctrinated into a radical rebel group…

I didn't think about it when I was reading the stories they put out, but this pulls nidalee in, too doesn't it? And Elise?
Seems like they are taking this all the way with all the champs that can transform into other animals (or versions of them). I like how they are finally pulling it all together.
And yes, as a Swain enthusiast, I LOVE that they are planning to dig deeper on that. Swain has always been a tad TOO mysterious in the lore. He needs some background and setup that it seems like they plan to give soon... I hope.
From the looks of it until Swain's rework, there's a possibility that Swain might be. Dunno about Udyr since he's only taking the spiritual stances of animals.
Is...is he hitting people with a lemon?
Edit: though giving Swain a magical people blood transfusion seems more...interesting than being a corpse puppet controlled by the bird.

Judging by his Udyr interaction there might be some secret lore where magical shapeshifters achieve their powers through Vastayan blood?
