I think he got into a nearly fatal accident or something & a Vastayan gave him some of their blood to save Swain's life. Swain likely used his new powers for his own gain.

They're both idealists that want to change the world, and they both seem to be calm and collected individuals most of the time. Also I think it would be interesting if Zed was the one that taught her how to be an assassin.

TheHappyReaperz1 votesRakan a showing kind of guy. He has the attitude of "Hey, you looking at my girl?" about him, especially around Zed. If Zed had been a their or killed some Vastayans or something, it'd be reasonable for Rakan and Xayah to hate him. However, Rakan and Xayah already hate people, just as a standard. If Zed killed some random Vastayans, it'd be just another human being evil to them. However, Rakan has several tuants based off killign Zed, and Xayah's ability icon this one, which resembles Zed getting shredded by some feathers. Now, what would motivate someones current boyfriend/husband, idk if they are married, to hate you, and a woman to want to tear your heart out? An ex. Which, leads me to beleive Zed had some form of relationship with Xayah, and something went bad. The definitive evidence will be in Xayah's special interactions, which aren't out yet.

Jet Sett4 votes"You messed with my girl" implies that Zed did something to offend them, so there's no way they were dating. There is the chance that Zed and Xayah had an affair, but that's the closest you can connect them romantically from that line alone.

However when the rubble and dust cleared, Zed was gone, escaping into the shadows. Which also prompts the "You think you got away?" [vlad-salute]

That or Swain used their blood to achieve his power rather than actually being a descendant of the people.

Everyone seems to be taking the word "blood" literally, but I doubt that it's meant to be. I have a feeling that all it is is that Udyr has a strong connection to mystical animal spirits, while Vastaya probably also have a have a strong connection to mystical animal spirits, perhaps even a genetic or "blood" relationship. Which would mean that Udyr, while human, draws power from a source at least similar to what the Vastaya draw power from.
Rakan seems a little… upset at this, but I have a feeling that it's just because he's not the most educated person when it comes to Udyr's job and intentions. He says
It is from our blood your gifts came, and my hand that took it back.
I still believe that the spirits that give Udyr power do so willingly, but Rakan seems ignorant to this. Almost like he's been indoctrinated into a radical rebel group…

Seems like they are taking this all the way with all the champs that can transform into other animals (or versions of them). I like how they are finally pulling it all together.
And yes, as a Swain enthusiast, I LOVE that they are planning to dig deeper on that. Swain has always been a tad TOO mysterious in the lore. He needs some background and setup that it seems like they plan to give soon... I hope.
