I appreciate that you can see his sexy thigh, finally some revealing male-champion splashart.

That's definitely base Udyr, not Spirit Guard.
Spirit Guard will still have this splash:

His old art wasn't great I admit, but imho, this new one seems to be the only one that actually made him worse - I see less of his face, I don't know what his physique is like now, the details of his clothes are incoherent and nonexistent, his color palette looks off. The only thing I see is an ugly bearded guy in a wolverine(?) skin who tripped as he was sprinting...there is so much more to Udyr than that which they could have exploited and featured. His stance changes, his communing with the spirits, all of which could have given his figure more detail and flesh out his identity. I now have less information about Udyr, what he looks like, or what he does than before.

You can still see his face :D (unless they updated it so that it's replaced with SGU)
Gotta be honest. My minds pretty blown that Riot has out of nowhere started to rapidfire all these updated splash arts. Them updating splash arts that were already pretty good is no longer an issue since they're now dealing with all the elephants in the room! Hopefully they move over to skins soon. :D
I wonder what has changed to allow them to update so many now.
