How Shyvana's bio should have ended
Hey guys. In regards to the new bio for Shyvana, which I thoroughly enjoyed, I must admit that the reason for Shyvana staying within Demacia simply does not fit with her portrayed character up until then in the story. In the current bio, Shyvana almost surrenders herself to Jarvin and decides to serve Demacia because of her love(?) for the magic-hating city... or something.
This plot-line feels like such a stretch, and almost does the entire premise of Demacia injustice. Demacia is this magic-hating, magic-fearing city state which ardently despises anything related to magic, as we learned in Lux's stories. In that case, the idea that the Demacians would be "okay" with a PURPLE magical being serving in their military is almost as absurd as the notion that Shyvana would willingly serve a nation that wishes to eradicate all beings like herself from the face of Runeterra.
How the bio really should have ended, was with Shyvana refusing to leave Jarvins side, and pledging and oath to defend him, despite Jarvin's persistent warnings about the bigoted nature of Demacia. Shyvana, for whatever reason, be it to repay a debt for Jarvins help with slaying her mother, need for a ruling figure to look up to and protect, or a possible illicit love attraction, follows Jarvin back to the capital and remains as his bodyguard, servant and companion. In turn, Jarvin keeps the Demacian outrage over such a creature being allowed within their walls at bay and pleads her case. This would set up a much more interesting dynamic and give Shyvana a little more character motivation, being defending Jarvin WITHIN a city that resents her rather than for almost no established reason, defending that city. Perhaps Garen, a close friend of Jarvin, has immense issues with Shyvana being by Jarvin's side. Maybe Jarvin's father has issues with this, etc. etc...
tl;dr: Shyvana should be loyal to Jarvin and not a city state that despises her kind
has been a resident there for quite some time. They also have a good stance with Bandle City, so seeing another purple humanoid form walking around their city wouldn't cause that big of a fuss.
