Great we got a skin for shaco after so long ! but honestly dark star shaco ? The theme doesn't fit the champion at all, I can see other champion easily get a skin in this theme. Let's take an exemple on bard, Bard the cosmic vagabond has currently 3 skin. Why would they pick Shaco instead of Bard or any other champion that fit more with the theme.

Do they just make a skin so people stop asking for new skin on a champion that didn't get any skin for really long ? (Shaco: 4 years) They did the same for Ivern they didn't canceled it because they are probably busy to remake a new skin that match better...

Honestly, when I saw Dark cosmic jhin I was sure Bard was getting a new skin but no. Bard

Edit: Skins that I think would fit better than Shaco for the Dark Star / Cosmic Theme: Lissandra, brand, Xerath

When you say "Champion that would fit more with the theme", do you mean Champions who already have ties to the Celestial Realm? Champions who have some sort of cosmic influence in their character? Etc. etc.?

'Cause the Dark Star skinline hasn't ever really been restricted to Champions with any particular cosmic affinity. Like, let's look at the skinline real quick;

Dark Star Thresh - A sadistic, spectral jailor/tormentor Dark Star Varus - A Darkin archer hell-bent on vengeance Dark Star Kha'Zix - A Voidspawn who hunts down great prey to evolve Dark Star Orianna - A girl made almost entirely of Hextech Dark Star Jarvan IV - An audacious human prince with a great strategic mind Dark Star Cho'Gath - A gluttonous, devouring Voidspawn Dark Star Karma - The umpteenth incarnation of an Ionian spiritual leader Dark Star Shaco - A corrupted marionette with a penchant for murderous "games"

Barely any of those Champions have anything to do with cosmic stuff, and I say "barely" because I can hardly count Kha'Zix and Cho'Gath, since their origin (the Void) is a plane of stagnant existence, and to that end isn't really cosmic in theme, and even if it were, both of those Champions seem only to serve as the Void's hunting/killing creations.

Of course, I'm describing the Champions in really, really short blurbs (and doing Orianna, most out of all of them, a serious injustice), but the gist of it is still there; Dark Star has no precedent for favoring Champions with cosmic/celestial thematics.

Personally, I think the best Dark Star skins come from Champions who are innately inhuman; Thresh, Orianna, and Shaco probably the best-fitting, but monsters like Cho'Gath and Kha'Zix fit well too, though Varus, Jarvan IV, and Karma still can (and do) work for the skinline.

And, sure, Bard is innately inhuman, but, that and his being tied to a cosmic thematic doesn't mean he qualifies for the Dark Star line better than any other Champion.

Community: We want a skin for X because they haven't gotten one in a while.

Riot: We hear you! Here's this skin for X! We worked really hard on it and we hope you love it as much as we do!

Community: Ew, not that skin. Delete it and replace it with something else immediately.

Do you want a new skin or not? Make up your minds, or Riot just won't bother with you anymore. Honestly, I think this is why Riot avoids making skins for champions like this, because their playerbase will almost always dislike them. They make skins for champions like Lux and Ezreal because they know their fans will almost always be pleased, but the fans of other, less popular champions? Picky things, demanding that Riot delete and replace possibly a year's worth of work. They did this for you. They're sorry you don't like it, but they tried, didn't they? They could have just not bothered, and honestly, with this ungrateful community, they should have.

Shaco is a trickster who murders people for fun.

Dark Star Shaco is a cosmic horror who destroys planets for fun.
