With the new lore can we get some likable villains?

Am I the only one hoping for this? Normally the hero is just average good man with powers and the villain is the biggest asshole in the 3rd dimension.

Examples Lissandra She's just racist, that's her entire character. She just hates everything that isn't like her.

Renekton A pretty cool guy until he had to hear Xerath's terrible singing voice for thousands of years and became a savage killing machine.

DrMundo This guy is just a murder. I don't even know how he even got into the league originally, he just flat out murders people in the streets and uses them for his experiments.

Syndra She was discovered to have crazy power that could go horrible wrong. Proves everyone right -_-

Malzahar Is basically Anakin Skywalker. He knows terrible things were going to happen in the future but instead of being the one man to stop them he just joins the problem.

I think it would be cool to get more grey area characters like those of Noxus. Darius wants what's best for his people. People can like him because he's out for his fellow man. Nautilus in a way isn't a villain at all, he's just a guy who got left behind and wants revenge. He's reasonably pissed, another reason why he's one of my favorite champions. The majority of champions I own is only because of how they are in lore. I find it hard to side with the person who's argument for justice is an eye for an eye. With that logic everyone should be a slave again because Africans weren't ever the only slaves and aren't the last. slavery is still a thing today yet people seem to go a little blind to it. Kind of messed up right.

Honestly, the villain in League is who you find them to be. Some people think Viktor is a huge villain, and cite Jayce's lore for that. Some people defend him with his own and Blitz's lore. Most of it is just personal preference.

Thresh

Sure he's a complete and utter monster who tortures people for eternity, but he's just so gosh-darn charming.

It'd be really nice if Riot added something in the lore to push Viktor back and place him in the gray area again, instead of pushing him towards an A-hole murderous villain like they're doing now.

How can you not like Veigar?!

Sure, he is unabashedly evil, but he suffered legitimate trauma and is just so ridiculously over-the-top his villainy wraps around to comedy relief. No one takes him seriously and he hates it with a volatile passion.

Viktor Vladimir Draven Diana Graves TwistedFate Gangplank MissFortune TahmKench Shaco Sejuani Veigar

All of these champions are either the way they are because of tragic events or just plain evil yet hilarious and relatable. League has a couple of cliche villains here and there, yet not as many as you think.

Leblanc

is pretty likeable, she like the funny sacarastic kind of villian you can't help but rooting for.

Galaxy King8/29/2015, 8:30:58 PM17 votes

Veigar: There's Veigar, I feel like hes that villain that wants to be evil and has a lot of power, but no matter what he fails and you feel bad for him, you would want to root for him and maybe he doesn't know what to do so hes doing this or that, the only person who can really understand him is lulu, who's just like him in someways, Veigar is just needs help.

Well, Xerath USED to be a tragic villain that people could really feel for, but instead, he was retconned into a mustache twirling Saturday morning villain.

Lissandra Excuse you! Don't be dissin on the homegirl like dat^Snaps Fingers^ And no she doesn't hate everything, she just wants to bring back her Higher Ups so they can conquer the world. How you got racist I don't really know, so please explain that part.

I don't think black and white characterization is one of the things that LoL suffers from. In fact most of the characters are shades of gray with a new outliers being completely malevolent or benevolent

Gorgannan8/29/2015, 10:00:16 PM9 votes

Riven worked for Noxus, only really left because she got bombed, not because she disagreed with the ideals.

Heck, She hates Swain and Singed, and so does Katarina.

Vayne's a criminal vigilante law-breaking, but like Batman, we support her.

Karthus ! Straight up murderer, but look at his quotes and tell me he doesn't think he's doing the right thing/making people happier.

Jofeyy8/29/2015, 8:47:00 PM8 votes

Syndra only went horribly wrong because they tried to contain her instead of helping her grow and learn to use her powers.

Zed is the coolest villain ever. So cool in fact i hope he conquers ionia

Jinx Jinx is a pretty harmless villain, if she counts. She's destructive and chaotic, but she never really has any bad intentions. Morgana Morgana can be seen as a villain, she fell from grace and turned to dark magic to regain power. She doesn't get along with her sister, but otherwise she's a pretty nice person. She runs her own bakery outside of the league, that's pretty innocent in itself.

I guess it just sort of depends on what someone considers a villain.
