Annie Update
So, in case y'all thought I was crazy talking about an Annie update.
Now, this could mean a multitude of things, and I'll go over each possiblity.

Meddler mentioned Voice Over updates in the recent month, and while Varus and Miss Fortune are high on the list, he didn't confirm either of them more nor that they were an actual priority. This could also be related to something else that I'll bring up later.

Art and lore updates. Similar to Varus, this news kinda comes out of nowhere, and while Swain's introduction means new Noxian lore, Annie seems to be the only one teased. While lore is almost guaranteed to change, she might also get a splash art update in the process.

VGU. This seems incredibly stupid, but another Rioter (I believe Wrecks, correct me if I'm wrong), said that they would be dipping into a literal quick VGU, which strikes me as strange. Typically a VGU takes months to do, but in the case of Annie, I imagine particles, sound effects, and most animations could remain the same.
That being said, a new model, texture, and potentially new abilities could still take some time, but how much they would be willing to do determines the time it would take I suppose.
(Also helps that the character as a theme and persona are very solid, so they'd already know what she should look like.)
- A new skin. A skin of 1820 and more usually warrants a teaser, and typically get a new voice over along with it. Lux was a good example, as she received a new voice over very soon after the Elementalist skin was released. If they like the voice enough, I'm sure they'd love to save time and keep her around for extra lines.
This ties back into the first segment in which Annie has a relatively high chance of getting a new voice over if they also do a skin of high level for her. It only makes sense if the voice actor was really needed.
