Nautilus lore

Nautilus Currently Nautilus's lore goes that he was once a sailor asked by the Institute of War to explore unknown parts of the Guardian sea. The expedition lead he and a small crew deep into unknown waters. They soon came upon a dark oozing liquid, Nautilus was the only one brave enough to delve into the waters. As he started climbing in, something from the depths grabbed him, pulling him under. He grabbed onto the side of the ship just in time, but his crew was scared that he would take the ship down with him so they wrenched his hands off the side. In desperation as he sunk, he latched onto the anchor. A little bit after everything went black.

Few days later he awoke and realized the iron suit he had put on had became part of him. He was angry at the crew he trusted, had betrayed him so he started to walk along the ocean floor. He eventually came across his home town Bilgewater, but he was shunned and wasn't allowed to stay their no more. He eventually found his way into the League of Legends, where he hoped to find the crew that left him behind.

These few lines are very cool and took lots of thought, but I think their needs to be more. Maybe in some far or near future champion, they could explain what dragged him under, why, and what exactly was he made of. Also why would something just drag a person under water and convert them into a ship sized titan, for him just get revenge on some men. This I feel needs to be solved in some future champion, or a Nautilus update. As a Nautilus player and a LoL lore lover, I would love to see some Bilgewater lore updates. I know this wont get a lot of attention, but I would like too see some more lore updates.

I think we already know what did it. Mysterious tentacles, his spirit somehow messed with. Who does that sound like? Illaoi

My theory is that the crew of Nautilus was attacked by the black mist, which is why they abandoned him. The mist reached underwater and corrupted nautilus, but since the undeads weren't expecting anyone to be there, they didn't bother to attack him and make him one of their own, which is why Nautilus isn't part of the shadow isles.

There is also the theory that a Darkin (What Aatrox is) dragged Nautilus under and gave him his powers.

I was honestly a little surprised that the Bilgewater event went by without Nautilus or Fizz getting even a mention. Nautilus did get mentioned in the Harrowing event a year or two back, though, as just sorta rising up from the ocean to kick some zombies around before going back to doing...whatever it is he does.

Honestly Naut's lore isn't that hard to detach the League from, just pop out the bit about his expedition being commissioned by them, but in a Nautilus lore update, I would like to see a few more things. He's one of the few champs with absolutely zero connection to any other champion, and I think they could work something in there. Or at least define what it is he's doing, because right now its'...it's not much.

Yea I'd like to see a sea monster type champion that would be connected to Nautilus's lore.
